It's the use of pairs like LV, CD, and other confusable digraphs I most strongly object to. How hard is it to type it out the first time, then use the abbreviations for later occurrences? I also have a beef with using abbreviations for players most posters would not be expected to recognize.

I have a simple remedy for dealing with transgressors, however - I don't read their hieroglyphics and go on to the next post.

It's positively Orwellian. Will acronyms eventually replace all words? Where is the physical labor in a few more keystrokes? And texting is helping the process along.
