Recommendation for FBS to split from NCAA

Please delete if this has already been posted or addressed elsewhere but I didn't see it. If these recommendations were followed, where would it leave UConn football? https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/30444422/knight-commission-endorses-fbs-split-ncaa

    On-ball defense

Its pretty bad, no? None of the guards seem capable of keeping their guy in front of them and stopping the dribble-drive. And this was against Central and Hartford. They get beat every time and then reach.

    B1G goes conference only

No doubt its just the start. I probably should have posted it on the football board where it would be more relevant. I think football has some B1G teams on the schedule. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/29435295/source-big-ten-moving-conference-only-model-all-sports-fall

A step toward the return of college athletics

https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/29241518/ncaa-offers-plan-bring-athletes-back-campus Voluntary workouts can begin Monday. I'm guessing state guidelines will supersede these NCAA recommendations.

OT: Need help; what are you streaming these days?

Given all the extra TV-watching time we've burned through a lot of our shows. We still have some runway on a couple of dramas but need some lighter fare. To give you an idea of our tastes, we consistently like Brooklyn 99. We found the first season of Community fairly good but we're getting a...

OT: Memphis we have a problem

Well, they had a lot of backcourt turnover in the offseason and the result is, um, a lot of turnovers. I get that WSU is a good team but they had a 6:1 ratio. That's 6 turnovers to 1 assist. 4 assists all game, that's God-awful. Their new starting backcourt had 1 assist, 1 (!), to 8...

    Some things to practice

Quality win for the Huskies. The delusional folks that thought we weren't a lock to make the tournament will hopefully calm down now. I wasn't comforted by how we closed things out however. Four missed free throws in the last minute and a lot of trouble inbounding the ball and breaking the...

Somewhat interesting number from the box score

Outside of Sykes the rest of UCF's starting lineup had two points. Two. Is that right? In another thread somebody mentioned Sykes possibly being frustrated in his position. No kidding.

I think I don't care for Bill Walton

I'm having a hard time watching the Arizona game, ole Bill says a lot of stupid . For intance, he persisted in arguing that the PAC12 was the best conference in the country because they had the "best" team. Not the best logic.

    Ollie's use of the timeout

There was some criticism earlier in the season about KO's use, or lack thereof, of the timeout at key junctures. I couldn't argue the point at the time but I will say that tonight he used them wisely and to great effect. At least twice and maybe three times after KO called timeout to stop a...

    Napier out after surgery

Pitt: no surprise at this point

0-5 in conference, six losse in a row overall. It looks good for them to lose their next two. Gibbs finally showed up big time today but it wasn't enough.

I'm glad we're playing on the road tonight

Louisville loses at home to ND. Is it possible they aren't going to completely suck? Cincy, who was hot, loses at home to SJU. I hope the boys are fired up after the Seton Hall performance.

    Good win for TN

Maybe they don't blow as much as previously appeared. It would help if this turned out to be a decent game for us RPI-wise.

    OT: Caron Butler

Caron isn't going to get a lot of press with Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and maybe even to some extent Billups around. However, if he has games like last night he can serve a very important role for the Clippers. 11 points, 10 rebounds (led the team), 4 assists (no turnovers), and 3 steals (led...
