One more important stat. She averaged 3.5 rebounds per game.
In comparison KK averaged 3.1, Ash 3.5 and Nika 4. We can expect that Kaitlyn will be going after rebounds as those three did,
I just read an obituary for Mike Pinder, the last surviving member of the original Moody Blues, who died a few days ago. Denny Laine, who sang lead on their first hit Go Now in 1965, died a few months ago. So here is the best version of Go Now from a group that has given me a lot of enjoyment...
Sorry, penalty flag on Kaizen. This thread is where we like the original best. This Jason Donovan version was 27 years after Brian Hyland’s hit in 1962. Before I posted I checked and was surprised to find that a group called the Four Voices had the original 2 years earlier. I doubt many of...
Buddy Holly‘s songs have been covered by so many famous artists (Beatles, Stones, Grateful Dead, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, etc. ). In most cases I prefer Buddy’s original version.
I think the older girls would really enjoy the newly renovated Peabody Museum at Yale. Check the website to see all that it offers. Admission is now free.
The oldtimers here remember Jimmy Jones’ big hit Handy Man from 1960. A few years later Del Shannon had a hit with it and in 1977 James Taylor came out with his own much softer version.
Hate when a kid is invited and doesn’t get picked. Hopefully Nika will be called soon.
Rebecca is doing a really nice job tonight. She clearly did her homework on all the players and there hasn’t been all the extraneous stuff as so often happens during games.
Sandy Denny of Fairport Convention wrote and sang Who Knows Where the Time Goes. I don’t think anyone does it better than Sandy Denny but it has been covered by many fine female singers including Eva Cassidy, Judy Collins and Nina Simone. I’ll flip a coin and go with Judy Collins for this one...
Fantastic achievement for the men. It was also a fine season for the women but it sure would have been nice to see them at full strength. If that had been the case we might be celebrating UConn’s 3rd dual championship this morning
Another bonus stat:
Averaging nearly 26 ppg in 5 tournament games Paige finished the season with 854 points. This is the second best single season scoring in UConn history, just 14 points shy of Maya’s record of 868.
Congratulations to Paige - can’t wait to see what she and the team are...
This one is for Nika and Aaliyah. They certainly gave us their blood, sweat and tears for four years and they made us very happy by choosing to come to Storrs from Croatia and Canada.
Now that it is officially off-season it’s time for a music thread. We were all disappointed in the way the season ended but we have much to look forward to. Pick a song that says something about how you feel about this year’s team, your hopes for next season, last night’s disappointment, Sarah’s...
We have many great posters on the BY who are fans of other teams; you sir are not one of them. We don’t need you to come on here and also in another thread telling us how we should feel or act on the day after a very tough loss!
What I posted in the other thread:
Sorry, but I don’t like her timing. The focus tomorrow should be on the two teams and the players getting set to square off for the national championship. However, if she chooses UConn I might forgive her.
Sarah, all is forgiven. Welcome to UConn!

From another thread started by DavidinNaples which was written before the 2 NCAA tournament games:
“Paige is also currently sitting on the 8th place in Single season scoring with 725
7th Maya Moore 736 (2010)
6th KLS with 747 (2017)
4th Maya Moore 754 (2009)
4th Napheesa Collier 754 (2017)
3rd...
Near the end of the Iowa- West Virginia game the announcer ( Beth Mowins I think) said that this is the last time for the home crowd to watch this group of seniors,”the best four in the history of college basketball.” She must be kidding. In addition to Caitlin I think the other 3 she would...

Agree with rshermvikes. Sarah may make her own decision but if she asks her mom (Allison Feaster) the answer will be UConn. Her mom played in the WNBA from 1998-2006. Her rivals included Nykesha, Sveta, Sue, Swin, Asjha and Diana. Now she works for the Celtics and she sees many UConn women...
From my post in another thread started by DavidinNaples:
Paige with 725 points is only 67 points behind Phee for second place in single season scoring. If UConn plays only 3 more games Paige would have to average 23ppg to pass Phee. Make it 4 games and she’ll need to average 17 ppg to move into...
