I think Auburn thought they could mail that one in. If they played 10 times, Auburn probably wins 8-9 of them. Happy to see Yale win. Ivy League basketball has been much improved.
That's just a stupid comment. Storrs is not an easy place to get to for most of the state, Hartford is. You can't just overlook that. Most all big time state universities are located in decently sized towns or cities.
Unfortunately the basketball only schools will never see eye to eye with the football and basketball schools. They will always squabble over revenue sharing. Kind of why the league blew up in the first place. Too bad, because the old Big East was on the verge of taking the ACC to the woodshed...
In a situation like this the limitations period might not even begin to run until it would be enforced. To your point, that may be another reason why FSU and Clemson didn't wait around to file suit.
If the point is to penalize teams trying to exit it wouldn't be enforceable. The ACC will never admit it's a penalty, their defense would go up in flames.
Hard to say, that's why this case will most likely be settled. If FSU and Clemson can prove that a breach of GOR results in a penalty as opposed to a more reasonable monetary damage amount, it will work in their favor. Courts do not generally enforce penalties.
Settling this case will also...
Didn’t he also try to rob a city bus while wearing his high school letter jacket? Gavitt must have gone to confession daily to keep that kid in school. He was a great player though.
Maybe with the exception of the Big 12 you could say that about all the other major conferences. ACC and Big Ten in particular were a steaming pile of garbage in the middle.
Johnny Egan from Hartford was one of the first CT guys to PC. Johnny later played in the NBA. Jimmy Walker was a great player for them from Boston. They really caught lightning in a bottle when they got the 2 Providence kids, Barnes and Ernie Di. That team lost to Memphis State in a the 1973...
The atmosphere at Gampel needs a substantial upgrade. Some of the bleacher seats need to be replaced by chairbacks. Unfortunately that reduces the amount of seats. Not sure what can be done with the concessions, they'd need to extend the mezzanines. UConn initially wanted a bigger building.
Bleacher seating at Gampel has always been like sitting in a sardine can. They wanted to get as many fannies in that building as possible. Concessions are a disaster also. If you look at the newer college arenas, there are less seats but more amenities for the fans. Fairfield has a beautiful new...
Poor Marc Suhr. I don't think any player incurred Calhoun's wrath as much as he did, but he stuck it out! He usually stayed on the floor about a minute before being yanked.
Not a good move for basketball. I don't think MAC teams will draw fans for football (or basketball), especially on Tuesday nights. MAC teams aren't bad, but there is no fan recognition in the Northeast. It seems like the UMass admins did this to save football, and basketball will be collateral...
Good for Maui to see the event back. Fortunately the Civic Center isn't located near downtown Lahaina. The PGA Tournament of Champions was also played at Kapalua. Hope Lahaina can eventually recover, and they do need the tourists back.
Was at that game also. Real battle on the boards. Wasn’t the story that Sly was on the train to Providence but somehow got off early and went to visit URI and ended up going there instead?
Fancy - Capitol Grille, Max Downtown, Trumbull Kitchen, Peppercorn's
Mie - Salute, Sorella, Agave
Pratt Street has pub style Vaughn's Publick House, etc.
You'll have good choices, but they'll up after the game.
Given the results of the 2022 season, winning 7 games in 2023 was a little optimistic (that's why god invented message boards) and wasn't that unreasonable.
