A college basketball centric piece but here’s what the most recent realignment changes mean as they affect the NET rankings:

True—but I don’t think Dayton is even close to the market that St Louis would give us. SLU’s endowment is quadrupole UConn’s and larger than anyone save for Villanova and Georgetown. New facilities, fertile recruiting territory, metro footprint. There’s a lot to like.
I believe the $4.5M is before tournament units get dispersed. So if the league is sending 6-8 teams to the tournament annually, and it’s approx $1.2M/game appearance, that check grows sizably larger.
I don’t see the WCC going for Seattle or Denver. Both schools have miles to go before they’re in they offer any appeal to a league that’s on the precipice of sending 3-4 schools to the tournament. More likely is they poach the most attractive program from the Big West, maintaining this...
Marquee games vs SEC, and cream of the crop in the A10, WCC, (hold your nose) American, and MWC in our future. Likely still get opportunities in premier Pre-season tournaments, ie, Maui, Atlantis, etc.
Andre Jackson (UConn – So.)
Jackson is a trendy breakout candidate for 2022 considering the Albany native was the second-highest rated freshman in the league last season, trailing behind Marquette’s Dawson Garcia per 247 Sports. Jackson’s athleticism is undeniable and the UConn staff raves...
Adama Sanogo (UConn – So. — 2021 All-Big East Rookie Team)
Sanogo was the last player added to UConn’s 2020-2021 roster though Dan Hurley certainly made sure to integrate the 6’8” big man in as a key offensive weapon for the Huskies. Evaluators like Gribanov see Sanogo as “a big body rebounder”...
League has a chance at multiple 1st Rd picks and UConn with a handful of eventual pros on the roster.

Georgetown’s success is directly tied to the league’s success. A historic team with a national brand. We should all be pulling for the Hoyas (save for 2-3X a year vs UConn).
Great questions—I admire how quickly he admitted how outdated the system is. Fortunate we have a school and state that were proactive in seeing this coming.
Keep up the good work, guys. Maybe former grad assistant Ben Wood. Ben just finished his third year in Tempe as Bobby Hurley’s assistant and was part of a UConn title with Calhoun. He relayed some incredible Hurley bros stories to Mike Anthony in a CT Post article. He’s a CT native...
It’s a great league for sure. 1st in NET in 2018-2019. Kids love the idea of playing for a basketball-centric school in a league that’s as high exposure as the Big East.
Feels like the league is well-positioned to do well in 2025. Schools in major media markets, NYC, Philly, Chicago, Indy, DC, etc and the league has an identity: basketball.
Wrote a piece regarding upcoming negotiations with FS1 for CBB Digest:

Remarkable. Completely forgot about BTM. I don’t miss the constant speculation in our lives. Curious what the MWC does if this is actually the case. A major blow. New Mexico State, Grand Canyon, UTEP, Western Kentucky all come to mind. Incredible how watered down these leagues become.
Remarkable that any team in the major six hoops leagues could go so long without stumbling into a tournament berth. Northwestern of the Big Ten getting their only NCAA appearance in 2017 was incomprehensible—the program began prior to the 1903-1904 season...
Here’s a piece that published today about the 2017 HS class, this year’s senior class. A lot of UConn targets: Makai Ashton-Langford, David Beatty, Blake Harris, etc. Take a look at where they are now:
