    Tournament (Non-UConn) Thread - Sweet 16

They aren't, they are just top heavy. Everyone knew UNC and Duke were good, and Clemson shouldn't have been a shock as the 3rd. Only shock for me was NC State who Marquette HOPEFULLY takes out. After that they sucked, exmaple: Virginia.

I couldn't sleep from 1230am my time and on. Game ended just after 2.30am but I think I finally went to sleep when it hit around 24.

Media heads would love a redemption story 2.0. I think Purdue at least makes the championship. Clingan/eddy and redemption vs repeat would be easy to market.

    Cam Spencer lights UConn's Fire

While not exactly alike, he has that swagger I recall seeing from El Amin. That confidence, that leadership.

Mick Cronin on UCONN and some Hurley Tidbits

So everyone has moved on from calling him an angry leprechaun? Public opinion changes rapidly. A few years ago when UConn was in the aac people here despised him. He's on the other side of the country now, as far away as he could possibly be at least within the US. If he came to Seton Hall...

    Boston Thursday Roll Call

3 hours might be a day trip, maybe, but reason would stand they can't make something like a 3 or 4 day trip because they have to tend to the farm. ;)

Too think in some parallel universe he's languishing in ECU watching all the March fun from home.

You can see how demoralized the NWestern player looks at the end of that clip after playing solid D.

Big East Proved NCAA Selection Committee “Wrong Again”

Let's at least see what happens in the sweet 16. One close loss and 2 in the e8 and at least one in the final four should be expected. I'd even say 2 in the e8 and one ff team is needed before we can say that.

OT: John Calipari to return as Kentucky men's basketball coach

I get feeling upset, and refusing to buy tickets and merchandise, or even sending letters to the AD. But some Kentucky fans are insane, absolutely bonkers. They've been known to send death threats to refs who "wronged" them, tried to review bomb a business of a ref who "wronged" them (and...

OT: John Calipari to return as Kentucky men's basketball coach

More or less this year in a nutshell, maybe one extra win. May you have many 24-9 (13-5 or 12-6 sec) seasons and round of 32 appearances! I think for him to stay long term gotta throw in a s16 next year though.

OT: John Calipari to return as Kentucky men's basketball coach

https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/39818274/john-calipari-return-kentucky-men-basketball-coach I know Big Blue Nation was in an uproar after Oakland, will be interesting to see how fans treat the news or if they will follow thru and not buy tickets or support the team...

I'll be in for that, will have to convince the gf to find a place or way to watch the game if UConn is in it.

Nearly 1 am start where I am on a work night where I have to get up at 7, ugh. Might sleep early and wake up for the start of the 2nd half for an hour.

    Three of Sixteen!

Missed great marketing potential there by not extending the team a (deserved) bid. Kind of shocked actually. Had this team been an 11 or 12 that upset Clemson or San Diego St or something, social media and sports shows around the country would have been ablaze.

Ranking college basketball's 10 best jobs

Hurley did an amazing job building this program back up, from the ashes. In that sense I get why people might take issue with the quote as it paints a different history.

UConn -9.5 v. San Diego St

I really think they do. They are young adults, kids even, they won't be bothered especially if they come a few days in advance. I don't think the body even feels anything, regarding time zone difference 3 hours and under.

    Three of Sixteen!

As long as Marquette goes 1-1 in a close loss to Houston, they met expectations, good season. As long as Creighton plays Tennessee close everything else, a win included, is just gravy. BE not quite playing with house money, but close. Creighton individually is.

Hit 10/25 or 8/20 or 9/22 or something like that and it will not be a problem IMO.

    UConn -10

A lot of teams have experienced that freight train more than once and there was nothing they could do even with a 2nd or 3rd chance, most notably Marquette three times.

Big East coaches have a group chat going

Hurley and the rest of the Big East coaches, who have their own group chat, seem to have noticed. The Mountain West is 3-5 so far in the tournament. The Big 12 is 3-3. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/39804746/big-east-undefeated-uconn-hurley-says-mistake-was-made For...

UConn/SDSU or Yale set for Thursday at 7:39pm

I had a bad dream that hopefully won't come true but UConn was struggling in an ugly game, pulled within 52-47 with under 3 to go, like 2:45, with Cam Spencer making a great play to get within 5, trying hard to get his team fired up, near home (Boston) in a shockingly not very pro UConn crowd...

    Naive NIL Question

A player was holding out on playing NIT unless NIL ponied up more $$$. Forget what team. How long until a player refuses to play in the tourney until more money is given out. Pros hold out for money some times...not all players are WE first after all.

    Final 4 picks...

It's always funny because 1. UConn plays whose in front of them. As cool as it would be to pick and chose, no dice. If it happens to be a lower seed, well, that lower seed already beat a higher seed so.... Not sure why naysayers have a tough time with all that. 2. Other teams HAVE INDEED...

I've lived abroad for a decade and don't watch US TV aside from March madness and every time a game goes to commercial it is so jarring for me. They are ALL so freaking bad. I mean they couldn't be that bad unless they were doing it on purpose levels of awful. I make good use of the mute...

    Tournament (Non-UConn) Thread - 1st Round

Wow, Dayton just cincy'ed Nevada. (To be cincy'ed is a rare March occurrence where a team gives up a large 2nd half lead, leading to a loss. Example: The team that overcomes the deficit "cincy'ed" the team that was ahead.) Origin: Nevada's large come back vs Cincinnati.
