Just FYI, I believe this mock draft is based on a particular potential draft order (notice Spurs pick first, even though that hasn't been determined yet). I think the idea is to generate lots of content by "shuffling" the draft order every so often and making new mock drafts accordingly. So it's...
Random stat observation I found just now: Steve Kerr shot 57.3% from 3 his final year in college (the first year the NCAA introduced the 3 point shot). That's absolutely unreal.
I've watched quite a bit of Nova, while no one is truly as bad as their worst game, they are deeply unimpressive. Going 0-3 against other Big 5 teams is embarrassing. Maybe they'll turn it around and snag some huge wins in conference but I can definitely see them falling off entirely. They have...
OP is certainly welcome to share his own thoughts, but I believe everyone deserves to be empowered with a democratic say in all avenues of life. Certainly in the workplace, but also in government and in civil society as well. When union participation was much higher in the post-WWII era, wages...
I think we went 1-2 against them last year, no? We blew them off the court when we hosted them if I recall correctly. Still, I very much want to sweep or take the season series against them this coming season
This guy was higher than most on Andre Jackson going into the draft. Just shared his perspective on 2024 and DC and SC are both lotto. He lists Jaylin Stewart in his "Tier 4" which is the first time I've seen anyone mention Jaylin for 2024.
Don't look now, but Bouk might just be starting to figure things out. He's been up with Charlotte much more frequently than he was last year, and his playing time has increased. He just had his 2 best back-to-back games (see screenshot). Still a work in progress at the NBA level obviously, but...
He didn't mention any UConn players by name, but I thought it was interesting that the only player he specifically referenced and complimented was Clingan (he called him "their big backup center" or something like that). High, high praise for Donovan.
This Fox Sports article focuses on Jordan Hawkins and has tons of quotes from legendary former players, coaches and others. It's really really excellent. There's a great tidbit in there I've never heard before about how Calhoun used statistics to prove to his big men that the "dirty work" like...
This. 4 or 5 years ago I made plans to go to a Nova game at Gampel with my siblings. We met at Ted's while we waited for my sister to make it through traffic. We ended staying at the bar the whole game, by the time she arrived, there was no point in walking up the hill. We've got some payback to...
100% agreed. The bottom line is we'll eventually need one of Alleyne, Diarra, or Newton to consistently take their game to a higher level (I know Newton has had some individually excellent games). But the great thing is we're playing so well we can allow them to work through things, get feedback...
Not sure what you're talking about. NY bail reform ended cash bail for some misdemeanors and non-violent felonies. Obviously Ben's actions wouldn't exempt him.
There are still huge amounts of people (over 75% of Rikers population) who are in jail simply awaiting trial, most because they...
I saw someone speculate that this could be so that when he ultimately doesn't play, it'll go down as a DNP-CD. Could mean the coach is trying to send a message somehow. I'd be shocked if he sees the court. Guess we'll see shortly though
Starting year 3 of teaching social studies at a vocational high school here in CT. Made a mid career switch into education and have generally loved it.
Way back in the day I worked in state politics, and it's ironic that I'm in a field/subject that's almost as political.
That quote about our staff talking to his whole family ("they were on the phone with my grandpa for an hour") is remarkable. Maybe that kind of due diligence is more common than I realized but it clearly has made an impression on Mr. Stewart. It reminds me of how we used family connections to...
I honestly don't know if this is the case, but it was literally a decade ago and he's back in town for a pretty cool occasion. Let's focus on that maybe?
Haven't seen this posted anywhere else, but looks like RJ worked out yesterday for the Jazz. This guy seems pretty plugged in to Utah's situation, and is high in RJ. Very cool to see - rooting for RJ to surprise some folks at the next level
Just to clarify (as a Woodstock Academy alum), while Woodstock does now have a prep program, they are a rigorous educational institution and subject to all the same accreditation, certification, and disclosure requirements of public schools. It is the de facto public school for 6 different...
Remember a few years back when Putnam Science Academy ("PSA") temporarily closed and transferred their prep basketball program to Woodstock Academy, only to rise from the ashes shortly after because some private donor(s) bailed them out? Seems like their financial issues aren't exactly behind...
I think he'll be 3rd team. He needs to get more efficient as others have noted, through a combination of better shot selection and better finishing. There's plenty of easy room for growth in terms of his passing - he could easily double his assists/game (only had 1.0 this year). Even a small...
This is the definitive Tyrese play for me. He was on another level that game, some real "man vs boys" moments for him. Would not have imagined that when he initially transferred here.
A great Husky and I wish him and his family the absolute best. He will be missed!
That might be true for most, but his kid is in the NBA so its not like his family is even close to struggling financially. I think he's perfectly comfortable where he is, and he's got a really good team with a promising future.
According to the CDC, after the 5 day isolation from a positive test there should be 5 days of mask-wearing (instead of 10 days of isolation).
So, no, they would not be playing games.
Not sure what's going on exactly, but I don't think this is true. Some follow up tweets unequivocally asserted that issues were in our program. Again, I have no idea what's true but I don't think this is what happened.
I think the Marion comp is close, but Marion had a significant pause/delay before letting it fly. Andre's release has quickened up significantly. He still releases it lower than optimal, and needs to speed up the motion as well, but he doesn't have that long hitch that Marion had.
The NCAA's NET ranking is out, and will be updated daily going forward. We debut at #13, which is pretty nice, but like all statistical models there's a lot of noise that will be filtered out the further into the season we get.
