BE, B10, SEC, and B12 tourney champs

That was primarily a joke, but the few times I've driven to Brooklyn (from late 1980's to early 1990's) the route (IIRC) was 95 to 287 to Saw Mill to Henry Hudson to West Side highway into Brooklyn. A metro north express from Stamford to Grand Central, the a walk to the Garden is Infinitely easier.

    Hot Take from Francesa

He basically pulled a number of years back what @Deepster has recently attempted; retire, then decide he didn't want to retire. When that type of thing does happen, it illustrates how self absorbed and out of touch the party in question really is.

    The Judge Speaks.

Please don't take this the wrong way but: A) I am far from young. From what I can gather from conversations over the (far too many) years spent on this board, I have at least a decade on Deepster B) If he wants to hang me, let him get started. As I already stated, unless it turns out to be...

    another hilarious commercial

Vitamin Water is a St John's product. I'm guessing that Bai chose us because of that.

Again, Imagination of a cactus. That may be exactly what we will need to get to Arizona.

    Where is our commissioner?

One of my first thoughts was the response was like this because they're afraid that if they say something that would make the Committee/ P Schools/NCAA leadership angry, they'll convice either the ACC or B-12 to grab us, then it will be over.

    The Judge Speaks.

So the retired judge is trying to continue his Costanza maneuver: “What, that? Are you kidding? I didn’t quit.” This is merely a guess here but his decision to attempt to force this return on the good posters of the Boneyard most likely was due to a thought on his part such as this: "I feel...

He's having fun trying to walk around with big boy pants on. Let's see where it gets him, it could be worth a few laughs.

Who the hell was the yuckuss that voted Houston #1?

BE, B10, SEC, and B12 tourney champs

Auburn hasn't played a team of UConn's quality. We're at a minimum a tier above whoever they played in those seven games.

A few of us (you included) never whined. And if the NCAA thinks their stacking the deck against us will slow us down, it won't.

I remember that. I also remember being told Arkansas had too many athletes that they could throw at us and they'd end up running us off the court.

    Where is our commissioner?

They didn't even have any questionable out of conference losses.
  15. FfldCntyFan

    Where is our commissioner?

Wow. It sounds to me like the conference's message is "We're sorry some of our coaches publicly criticized the selections. Please forgive us".

    Where is our commissioner?

There's a reason Hurley called it a shell game. They have a very strong idea of who they prefer over who beforehand and adjust the criteria accordingly to justify their selections.

Fox - Big East exclusive negotiating window

I resent that BL. You, Money and I provide nearly that many in Sec 241 alone. Side question, I could have sworn I received (and responded to) a DM from you this morning (while fueling up for the drive back from New Hampshire). I can't find it now. Was I imagining this?
  18. FfldCntyFan

    Where is our commissioner?

Part of me is wondering if a) the conference put a bit if an effort to add one more matchup to the Gavitt Games (BE vs B1G) and b) we knocked off a B1G school in that matchup, would it have benefited any of the BE bubble schools that got left out?

    Where is our commissioner?

If they intentionally made it more difficult for us to repeat, so be it. For all I care they could have put twelve of the fifteen best teams (after us) in our region. Put them in front of us one game at a time and I like our chances.

    Selection Show Thread

Yes it was a ridiculous response. Not that I care as I still believe they can put whoever they want in our path and it will be our game to lose, but couldn't a lot of this have been avoided if the kept Duke in the east?

BE, B10, SEC, and B12 tourney champs

If this was any of all but a couple of our prior teams I would be a little angry with how this fell out but this year, with this year's team, it doesn't bother me at all. If anyone should be complaining about how things fell out with arguably the best second, third and fourth seed in the same...

    Where is our commissioner?

This is concerning as it is eerily similar to the manner in which Kliavkoff handled the Pac-12's negotiations up until last summer.

Are you claiming they chose in the region with clearly the best number one seed when the could have been in a region with clearly the worst number one seed?

UConn #1 Overall Seed - Impressive In 3 Bid League

There has been some recent discussion about expanding the size of the tournament and this discussion has had some push back. The larger (power football) conferences want to know that there will always be room for more than half (ideally in their exits 2/3) of their conference earning tournament...

    Down goes Houston

At mid level seeds I can see this but for the overall 1, they merely need to identify whatever school they see as the #1 and then, if neccessary, align one of the Dayton games. If we were a one seed in the east as #3 overall on Thursday, who they put in our bracket seeds three through twelve...

    BE Bubble Update (3/15/24)

This. While there is some validity to the idea that other power conferences are a bit overrated, therefore making in conference losses look better, the BE schools that may end up on the outside looking in could have performed better than they did before conference play began. If they had, they...
