This is a decent layout of the bubble teams and their cases. It’s weird that other teams didn’t choose our path and simply win 30 games, including the conference tournament. That’s the best approach, imo.

He also fell to 20th in the draft, which was the most famous and precipitous drop in last year’s draft. That hardly seems like a selling point for Nova/Neptune. I love that we have so many recent success stories to point to, for both freshmen and transfers.

The thing is, Providence wasn’t really that good without Hopkins. I like Carter fine, but Newton deserved this. I can’t wait to see him play with a chip on his shoulder now.

Loves this. What a perfect fit for us he has been. Tone-setting defender who brings size in the backcourt, giving his team the versatility to use different schemes. Effort isn’t a concern for him. He rebounds. He focuses off-ball. He even stays engaged on the bench.

I actually wonder if team performance causes certain players to be slightly overrated on EvanMiya.com, because our guys all look amazing by his numbers. Per his ratings, we have five of the top eight players in the Big East and six of the top 13. It’s ludicrous how good we’ve been.

My counterpoint would be that he should be able to improve more with access to an NBA coaching staff and facilities, with no academic obligations or limits on coaching time. Plus, it’s a weak draft at the top.
