    UConn and the Transfer Portal

What’s everyone think of Brandon Huntley-Hatfield? Decent size. Can stretch the floor. Wouldn’t be a bad prospect.

I keep thinking the same thing. I wonder if there is even a chance of it

    Samson Johnson

I thought Samson was known as a shooter. He doesn’t even look for his shot. That’s been the biggest disappointment for me. Overall he has held his own.

    Next Season’s Rotation

If we are going to look at a back up big for depth. Someone like an Alexis Yetna. I believe a grad transfer might be a good depth piece.

Andre Jackson Testing the NBA Draft Waters: ESPN

I read it as I’m probably out. That means he’s done college I assume.

    Tristen Newton Declaring for Draft

No Tristen. Does that mean better odd’s of returning?
  7. Huskyfan4evr

Tristen newton can be a star college basketball PG next year here

If things don’t work out with others in the portal would someone like a David Jones be a good option? Not a great 3 point shooter but overall decent player

    Doomed. Jeff Anderson

Only positive maybe is Anderson likes the be the “show” and call a lot of fouls. That helps UConn I believe.

    Straight line drives

We played some 1-2-2 also at times I believe with AJ at the top which sped some teams up. Maybe throw that in here or there

    BET 3, 4 5 & 6 seeds

What if Providence beats Xavier and Creighton wins out. Would X be in the 4 seed?

February - Other Big East Games

I still think Nova will be a tough out come March at their place and MSG. They are getting better game by game.

    Samson Johnson

Playing against Akok is a great matchup. IMO. Not someone who will kill you inside. Just play solid D and rebound. Definitely a good game to make get into the flow.

    Need to shake things up

Last night was obviously a tail of two halves. First half at the start no ball movement, stagnant offensive that we have seen of late. A lot of that had to do with Jackson’s man sagging way off. 2nd half the ball moved much faster and everyone got better shots. A lot more flow. Even with Jackson...

    Need to shake things up

Allayne hasn’t been very good lately. He was better to start the season. With his experience maybe try starting him to see if you can get him going!

    Need to shake things up

I really think Newton needs to be more assertive. He looks disinterested to me. No fire. I hope Wednesday there are some changes in lineup and offense. Very predictable and just look weak.

    UConn at Providence Thoughts

Really need to figure out a way to shut down Hopkins. I’m not sure Karriban has the strength to stop him alone without foul trouble again.

What’s everyone thoughts on Creighton/DePaul today? Creighton cover 15.5??

ECU Transfer Tristen Newton Currently on Visit to UConn

Any idea who else is interested in him?
  21. Huskyfan4evr

    Transfer Portal

I’d like to see Nolley. He’s a big guard who can play the 2-3. If you want to play 4 out I think it’s nice to have big guards. Hence KU.

    LaVall Jordan Fired From Butler

Chuck Harris also wouldn’t be a bad option

Tyrese Martin declares for the draft

Going to miss the toughness and rebounding. His will helped win some close games this year.

Who will be our starting point guard next season?

I agree. I’ve been on the loyal train the past couple years. But I think it’s time to move on from a few of these guys. We had no one this year who could take anyone off the dribble. It’s time to find some guys who can help in areas the team needs most.

Who will be our starting point guard next season?

Fatts Russell? He must have 1 year left.

    On To Marquette

I really hope that with how the last couple games have gone that Hurley switches it up alittle. If nothing else to just to throw off the scouting report some. The first 4 minutes against Nova the team looked ok until Whaley and Sanogo had the touch fouls called. But I do agree with most that...

    Sanogo out

A couple years ago with Whaley at the 5 playing the 5 out offense was when things started to turn around in the program. Excited to see how it plays out. If we can knock down a few outside shots there should be some driving lanes for people like AJ to explode.

    Recruiting Transfers - April

I wonder about someone like Jamal Mashburn Jr. He is a creator. Not a great shooter. He finished out the season very strong. I know we had interest in his initial recruitment.

    Recruiting Transfers - April

What about someone like Shane Dezonie from Brewster. Says he originally from PA. 6’4 SG top 100 guy. Maybe he will become available with Miller being canned

We can go deep if these 3 things happen

Thank you for the analysis. I think with the way we play defense fouls will happen. I think we need to find a way to be in the 75ppg to make a run. I always look at Bouk/Cole they need to produce around 35 points. Sanogo/Whaley 20. That's leaves the rest to produce 20. Its going to be hard to...

Our Resume Is Set, What's Our Seed?

I’d love to see a 7 with a second round matchup against Houston. If we end up an 8-9. Definitely want a Michigan matchup. Feel like we match up with them well!

Too much confidence with Creighton next?

I'm interested to see how Cole and others do against that trap Creighton used last night at the top of the key. If we can break it easily should be a lot of open shots. Should be interesting for a game plan for that.
  33. Huskyfan4evr

    Tyrese Martin is key

I really think Tyrese is key to the teams success in the coming weeks. Really need him to start hitting a couple 3's a game again and getting 8-10 points. He rebounds and defends well but since the return of Bouk hasnt been as involved offensively. Really need him to produce for the team to take...

    Nova Scouting Report

The few times ive seen them this year Jermaine Samuels is a guy we need to stop. Scores in bunches and is a great rebounder. Hopefully Martin will draw that assignment and keep him in check.
