If what the article states is true, that being consideration to Maryland and LSU, and understanding the dollars in play here, I still don’t get her decision making. But, that’s hers, not mine…
I do wonder what Olsen thinks are the benefits to her by going to Iowa for her final year in college? More exposure? Riding the CC wave? A better coach for her? Better competition? I’m just not seeing it.
I would run as far and as fast as I could to steer clear of Hailey Van Lith. Has some talent, Jeff Walz would attest to that, but I think she brings with her a swagger and attitude that doesn’t fit to how Geno plays and operates his program.
I disagree on the never got a chance argument. Whether you get 30 minutes or three minutes you work your butt off to give indication you deserve more time on the court. Goes for practice too! Great kid, great teammate, hope she lands somewhere, where she gets to show her skills.
And so goes Bluder. No disrespect mind you but it’s like Arizona a few years back when they had McDOnald and they were anointing the coach out there and then…..
You could go back and forth all day long on this and yes, when it gets to this point in any game, you want the infraction to be egregious and this didn’t qualify, no way in hell. One play did not make the game though and we played sloppy far too often. Cannot say enough about our girls and what...
No one other than Clark in excess of 15 points
Limit help defense on Clark, this is how her teammates light up the scoreboard
Nika only two fouls at halftime
I think if we try and play at their pace for too long it’ll be -12.5. We need to slow them down some and be selective when we speed it up. That happens, we can make it to the final game.
I think this has been rather pervasive throughout Aaliyah’s four years with us. I think once she has her head down she’s committed and her foot skills aren’t what they need to be to stay upright. No malice, just something tough to develop for a big kid.
Absolutely great victory and to think to get into the FF we had to have contributions from all seven at one point in time, who da thunk it? I was hoping for Maria Conlon to sudddenly appear to take those late free throws.
She needs to be more aware when a second and third person comes to guard her, and when she puts it on the floor during these times is when she’s most vulnerable. Know full well that every team is going to do this to her.
On board as far as her wanting her to do well, who wouldn’t but at this juncture, even with being out last year, she seems lost and it forces to play Edwards more than Geno would like and forces us to play small for far too long. Needs to step it up.
Again, I’d love this to come to pass but our inconsistencies, especially coming out of the gate, has me concerned. You can’t do that against a really good team and come back to win. I actually think escaping Syracuse might be one of the tougher challenges in front of us.
Would love this to come to pass but both she and Rebecca need to be a bit more objective, especially Lobo who has a national presence. I understand her Ice Brady comment from last night but the continued emphasis on UCONN doesn’t help with credibility.
Said it before. I put Tennessee and UCONN in similar situations. Both could be early exits or both could make Elite Eight but beyond that is a stretch goal but an A game from each could take them to FF. I think if you ask So Carolina, beyond that debacle in the SEC Championship, Tennessee was...
Happy for the national exposure. Can’t overlook the SNY coverage we get but Fanta really, really loves what he does and he does his homework, which should serve as an example for Bestwick.
I think a lot has to go right, meaning higher ranked teams bow out early in their individual tourneys and get beat soundly for UCONN to move up to a #2. I still think a lot of teams hope they don’t end up in the same bracket as UCONN. I see both Tennessee and UCONN similarly - each could bow...
100% on board. She needs to feel the double and sometimes triple team coming when she dribbles in the lane and understand there’s immediately 2 other teammates open
You do it for layups, right? Using the backboard for shots from the side is a long lost art and in theory is easier to hit than straight-in, which is why they painted the box on the backboard. It gives the shooter a much better target than the rim does.
CD staying on would defy the odds, to many…. Carla doing a great job with Princeton, no question, but doesn't have the schedule that Temple or Cincinnati’s had when Jamelle and Tonya had their head coaching gigs so not so sure apples to apples. Carla’s recruiting pool and then...
Presuming the coaching staff stays as is, CD leaves when Geno goes, one has to wonder what that would do with Jamelle, Morgan and Tonya? Look at what happened with Beth Cunningham when Muffet left, Beth figuring she was due the job..
Lot of empty seats, especially in the higher levels, lots.. Ceremony was nice but old school here and liked the drama and emotions before the game and liked it when the other team tended to watch the proceedings, which typically worked in our favor.
Too much has to go right for us to come away with a win but IF our freshmen can hold their own and don’t allow the magnitude of the game get the best of them and IF we can limit the runs of 8+ points in succession by So. Carolina to one or two runs and IF we keep the TOs to under 10 or 12, then...
