Coach Reed and Syracuse Coach Leggett-Jack have both impressed me with their love for their players, their schools and women's basketball........and they both appear to be excellent coaches too........
After all of the injuries this season, I figured that if the team even made the top 16 that would be a great accomplishment and it is.......now that they're there and playing a good but not great Duke team my expectations have changed.........I'm hoping for a victory against Duke and then why...
the good news for Azzi is that UConn will have other good outside shooters so she will not have to feel the pressure of carrying the team from the outside as she did with Paige and Carolyn out ........frankly unless she makes a miraculous recovery and comes back 100% early on, I choose to view...
very similar in mentality but from a physical standpoint Shade came to UConn already in such great shape that she laughs at Geno's practices...........let's see if Ziebell will do the same or if she needs to improve her overall fitness......I know one thing.........she is a long-range...
She's never going to be Aaliyah but I thought Ice played pretty well against Jackson State..........her first few shots were excellent and spun out, her passing was solid, and she had five rebounds and a block or two in limited minutes........when she's a starter with consistent minutes I think...
It's the '26 class that UConn needs to concentrate on...........specifically that terrific 6'5" post who's going to school in Middle Village, Queens NY by the name of Olivia Kristjana Vukosa......THE BIG "O"!!!!! She's a once in a decade (or two) player who should lead UConn back to the promised...
the only one who can stop Paige is Paige..........she can get her shot off against anybody and if the shots aren't falling, she either gets fouled or simply makes the right pass to the open player...........that's the difference between her and most of the other top scorers........
I think Nika and KK will tag team Fair throughout the game.........let's hope they don't get in foul trouble guarding her..........I'm glad it's Syracuse because Arizona still plays that tough defense that UConn is so familiar with........I was impressed by Syracuse's offensive rebounding but if...
could easily be a trap game...........they better to be prepared to play a tough rival even if they end up winning easily......there are no second chances in this tournament....
their post is one of the top shot blockers in the country but I expect Aaliyah will show her some things she hasn't seen too often.......still may not be that easy a game up front.......
It's been a great pleasure watching her develop into a complete ballplayer over her four years at UConn.........a relentless player who brought it every game despite taking a pounding while others were forced to the bench with injuries..........just curious why the announcement was made on the...
Jackson State is one of the top rebounding teams in the country which is one of UConn's weaknesses............keep Jackson State off the boards and UConn wins easily, if they don't it could be a bit of a struggle
they really have few options based on the currently available scholarships.........seems like it's Ms. Strong or another frontcourt player and that's it........I'm not touching the transfer issue......
I said if healthy.............I assume Jana will be fine and Ice has finally flashed her potential over the past month........as to Ayanna I have no reason to believe she'll be unable to perform by next season but who knows........I'm very much in favor of recruiting another big forward or post...
I'd say she's certainly the best option right now but that may change as teams get knocked out of the tournament and more players head into the portal........having a healthy Jana, Ice and Ayanna is not quite "shambolic" but an experienced big would certainly be an important...
