Apologies that I cant attach a clip, but a few nights ago on ESPN (Sports Center, I think) Andrea Carter gave an excellent analysis of Paige's game, full of high praise for every aspect of her play.
I absolutely loved that. It showed total class. Paige and Azzi know how it feels to be injured, sitting on the bench, watching teammates struggle in a game, and that they sought out an injured opponent to offer support and encouragement is just the epitome of sportsmanship. What great people...
I think we all have to admit that no one knows how good Paige will be next season. In terms of playing experience and development, she is nearly two full seasons behind Clark, for example. Plus, no one knows whether there will be any lingering limitations resulting from her injury. Of course, I...
Absolutely not. With very little to no practice and no recent game experience under her, she would be going up against players who'd played all/most of their seasons and so are much prepared than she could be. And she'd be playing with her teammates who have developed their own...
I'd never heard Coach McGuff speak before. He was thoughtful and articulate and showed a balanced perspective about his team, about playing against UConn, and about Dorka's transfer to UConn and its effects for both her and his team. Nice,
I agree about the press. During the regular season, I thought UConn struggled against the press a few times (don't recall against which team(s)), so I hope that they are indeed practicing ways to break a press. tOSU has also made a couple of big comebacks this year, so they won't wilt if UConn...
Seven of the twelve put UConn in the Final Four; the twelve are unanimous in picking So. Carolina as the National Champions.
A lot has to happen up to and including the Championship Game for those two things to happen. As the adage says, that's why they play the games!
Go Huskies!!!
Agreed.
If all she did were those long threes, she would just be a notable outlier. But she handles the ball, can drive to the hoop, has many assists and rebounds. The core of Iowa's season. POY.
According to Caroline Peck, during the College Game Day show, it was Tennessee that put UConn on the map! She was a Tenn. assistant coach back in 1995 and according to her, Summit did ESPN and UConn a favor by agreeing to play that first game. I guess Tenn. thought they would win that one!
