Do I hate that the selection committee completely snubbed and short-changed the Big East? YES.
Do I absolutely love this for the 3 teams that got in (especially the good guys)? HELL YES.
Feels like these 3 inadvertently received a little extra motivation carrying the torch for the entire...
His defensive ability was a huge surprise to me coming into the season. I had no idea how elite he was on that end of the ball. Will be the separator in how high he goes in the lottery with his continual acceptance of guarding the other team's best player.
Super high IQ, has found his 3-pt...
What's equally as impressive is 18-2 in BE play. Will that ever be matched again?
This felt like the year to do it with so many coaches still relatively new to their programs and in the beginning stages of instilling a culture.
This UConn team has the highest collective bball IQ I can remember in a long time. Even edging last year's team IMO. Acquiring Spencer put us over the top. If Clingan's healthy in March, I don't see anyone beating us.
What a job by the staff from one year to the next.
The only variable that can completely derail the success of this season.
Fortunately, they all sound like minor injuries that can be overcome in short order.
Doesn't matter if you're young and a benchwarmer. If you have athleticism you have athleticism.
I'm sorry, Castle, Ross, and even Singare have above-average athleticism. Go back and watch film on them. And yes, Samson and Solo would qualify as having ELITE athleticism. This is why I'm...
I agree about the starting lineup's athleticism. However, crazy how athletic the incoming class is.
Samson
Solo
Ross
Castle
Singare
Clingan
Stewart
That's 7 with above-average athleticism. Not many UConn teams went 7 deep with this level of hops. Also, IMO Clingan's athleticism is underrated.
Many thoughts and questions watching this.
1) Karaban is going to be LETHAL from the 3-pt line this season. Over/Under he's at 38% from three by the end of the year?
2) The collective athleticism on this team is insane. Top 3 all-time UConn teams in athleticism from top-to-bottom?
3) Clingan...
Even with Tristen gone, we have some STUDS in the backcourt. Still going to have a very diverse lineup that can matchup with anyone. Going to be very hard for teams to prepare for us. Should have one of, if not the top defensive team in the country. The only question mark I have is perimeter...
I hate "the Process," and any team who intentionally tanks for multiple years as a sorry attempt at a title (which has still alluded them). They don't win it this year, I don't think it's happening anytime soon with an aging Harden and too many miles on a player like Embiid.
Go Celts.
Sanogo dominating Kalkbrenner in the reg season after some unwise smack talk.
Hawkins absolutely flourishing in the NCAA tourney.
Every halftime buzzer beater Karaban hit.
The entire Phil Knight Invitational when everyone was clicking and leaving fans drooling.
AJ blossoming into an all-time...
4 - Shabazz Napier (2014)
$1 - Ricky Moore
$3 - Rashad Anderson
$2 - Alex Karaban
$5 - Emeka Okafor
I actually thought long and hard about this. This team has incredible balance, a game-changing PG that can create his own shot, solid defenders at both guard positions who can pressure their...
30 minutes after the game ended I immediately felt compelled to buy a classic white Jackson Jr. jersey. I've said it once I'll say it again, favorite husky BY FAR since Kemba.
For me, it's as follows:
1) Kemba
2) Jackson Jr.
3) RIP
4) Emeka
5) Ray
6) Adama
7) Bazz
This isn't a ranking of...
