The only downside to BE teams continual advancement is that they are the teams who have the 'best shot' at beating us. Put one in the Final Four and things will certainly become interesting, especially with those two remaining BE teams. Of course we have to do our part as well.
Being rich ain't like being wealthy. The rich still will work for money but the wealthy's money works for them. Just saying nothing wrong with doing a few commercials letting the sponsors (e.g. AFLAC) pay your grandkids college education.
I watched Kenny Smith twisting himself in knots trying to identify our faults over the weekend. At first I was feeling offended, but then I remembered where I 'reside', and that all he has to do is come visit the Yard. Lots of material here to steal, albeit mostly inaccurate.
You already know...
Actually Hurley its not for you to say, even if you're in your proud/excited/happy papa moment.
Unless of course your bored and trying to make your game-play/opponents much more challenging.
Edy is 3rd year Clingan, meaning his experience is the difference. He just seems to never put up weak shots even when players are hanging on his arm. Just saying Clingan next year could also be NPOY candidate. (I know its not happening)
Of course they will be approaching Hurley, my belief that is that money is not the factor for Hurley as with other Coaches. He's got a great thing here, and it will continue to get better and better for him and his family. UConn will take care of him.
The disrespect to the BE is awful.
Like last year, the only teams I feel this Tournament who could prevent our Championship would be BE teams. That's the respect I have for conference.
I may be strange but I love our bracket. NCAA is throwing the best at us only out of massive respect for our program. It won't work.
We are the best so what should it matter who is in our brackets? Only a couple of BE teams have the best shot of beating us. If we play our basketball this...
I have come to think that that is a strength for this team. He appears never worried, hurried or anxious. Its almost like he's the controller of the court.
People can say all the great things (deservingly so) but I have never seen one of our guards be as consistent, game in and game out...
These games are the reason UConn teams look forward to playing non Conference teams in March. Just saying familiarity was the 'close game' culprit tonight not bad play.
Like last season the BE sets us up again for a nice Tourney, getting the hell away from these teams.
Donny made a great point that Xavier playing last night was the main reason we were caught `flat footed ' at the start. They looked oiled and we looked frozen.
The 2nd half we were on fire!
Hurley shut the Boneyard complainers (including me) the hell up. Chats no longer discussed his poor decision making, lack of timely timeouts, and strange substitution patterns. Threads no longer talked about deadlines for Hurley. Sure a Championship will shut us up, but this season he stapled...
Hurley found a good one in Newton.
UConn found a Champion in Newton.
BE found their Player of the Year in Newton.
NCAA found their All American in Newton.
I have never seen a UConn team so March ready. Every player is confident, believing in each other and so damn unselfish.
The regular season is over and they rank at the top (i.e. regular season speaking) of all UConn teams to me. This includes our 5 Championship teams.
UConn is on top!
McDermott and Hurley have more battles coming, also means some damn good future matchups. McDermott and the other Coaches ain't going to let Hurley nap.
Need a congratulatory fan thread. Yesterday's win was most significant to a lot of old-timers. We've been climbing that Mountain for 25 years.
Tristen Newton says winning the BE Title is harder than the NCAA Championship.
Back on the Mountaintop where we belong:
"Castle in the sky!"
Amazing squad where our highest draft pick is not our best player. Castle as a freshman picked the right school, he can play loose and learn D1 ball from the vets. Tristen he says is his main source of assistance. Any other school he would be the number one option and...
