Four Slumping Shooters...a sign for hope?

They all should be due for a positive regression to their historical means, and even a small bump by 2 or 3 could make the difference in some of the upcoming games. Last 8 games: Joey C is shooting 22.7% from three, even if he never returns to the lofty heights over the first 14 games or so...

    Coach Hurley and Defensive Adjustments

He has to get better at this. Individual players have abused our defense on multiple occasions leading to too many losses. His half court pressure with the focus on the hard hedge overall is very effective but against smart coaches with the right players it can be a disaster. Cases in point...

    Alterique

In layup line. Seemed to shoot okay. He was holding his left arm like it was hurting a bit while standing there. Small gym, big high school size.

    Character and mental strength

we didn't show it in the first half but the rest of the game we fought tooth and nail against a very tough opponent whose best player had a career day. Onions! Could be the start of a good roll...but of course, we are doomed, DOOMED for sure

Clark Kellogg & Doug Gottlieb & Steve Smith

Very cool to see him have to do 20 push-ups for picking Iowa State. Then Doug Gottlieb was analyzing DeAndre's performance and he had to through in that he thought DD was also awful on defense in allowing Hogue to score so much...he called it "brother-in-law ball" (allowing his anti-UConn hate...

    Another classic game!

These are the type of character building games that can build a champion. The level of performance and intensity was very high throughout. The lead went back and forth and the chess game of decisions by both coaches was scintillating. Florida played much much better than they did against Fla...

Memphis v. Ok State Part 2

Memphis is playing with a lot more energy. holding a slim lead early on. Nichols is a player. Goodwin is very active and tough to keep off the O boards..very good interior passer as well.

    Memphis v. Austin Peay

Memphis has a deep, athletic team. Tonight they were missing a couple of their frontcourt players and it showed as the frontcourt not look particularly impressive. They have two very skilled guards with point guard skills and three other guards were more wing types, but particularly good at...

    OT: OKC v.s Houston

OKC had a 26 pt lead in the 2nd quarter, as KDurant was in fire. Last five minutes of the second quarter and most of the second half was a different story as KD was ice cold and the OKC guards played very poorly. DFisher and Reggie Jackson had 3 fouls each early in the 2nd quarter, all the...

    OT: Laker fix is on

Golden State outplayed LA most of the game but the zebras did everything they could to keep the Lakers close. Lakers were constantly being rewarded with foul shots with minimal contact. Final free throw disparity was 50 to 16. Wow...just Wow

    Gottlieb still at it

Silver Lining on ND's dominance against us?

Remember the 2010-2011 season when UConn dominated ND in the first three meetings and then (thanks in part due to some questionable fouls on Stef and the defection of Samarie Walker mid-season) they knocked the Huskies off in the Final Four? Perhaps history can repeat itself in reverse this year!

    Tough game tomorrow

They have not had the best season but Seton Hall often gives us a tough battle down there (and certainly owned us last year). We have no one who can matchup physically with Teague, Edwyn has had our number and it is always tough to get focused after difficult travel, the snowstorm and a noon...

Bad night for UConn & alums

Rudy was only one with a decent individual game with 25 pts. But on 33% shooting in a bad loss. Caron, Kemba, Ben G, Ray Ray, Jeff Adrien and Charlie V all had sub-par games. Hasheem and Andre saw little action

    OKC handing it to Memphis

Glad to see it, but it always a bit of adjustment to start cheering against a team that I rooted for for six years. Despite Rudy not having his best season, It was insulting how little they asked for in return: A washed up Tayshaun Prince, who has never been the same since the back injury...

OKClost to Lakers today...Lakers on fire shooting 55% from two, 41% from three and KD and Russell Westbrook were stone cold. Hasheem only got in for six minutes but looked good at there. He played solid straight up position defense against Gasol and Howard but the stupid star-rewarding refs...

    First half rebounding against Pitt

Rewatched the painful first half with emphasis on boxing out & it was clearly a team problem. Totally missed box outs where player they were covered got uncontested rebound: Bazz (clearly hurting this game) and Boat Player late on box out and then lacked the strength to keep their player off...
