I was able to watch both Ole Miss and UT lose their games yesterday due to having the day off to handle some medical issues for my mother. In both instances the home team came out of the gate on fire. The OM style of agressive play wasn't working and there were several charges that might have...
I detest the portal opens before the tournament begins and hope that is corrected someday. I get programs are making changes and if the coaching staff leaves or is fired, that could be an exception but the wild west of players moving is crazy given there is much basketball to be played.
No...
I would have put AE on the team but wouldn't say any of those listed are undeserving or totally out of place.
Not sure if this is the norm or if the AP just goes for the five players they wish but it appears they tried to keep a balance of frontcourt and backcourt players on each team. There...
A list sure to generate clicks and get people talking, which is usually the point lol.
To this dude, the top 3 are easily:
2016 Huskies
2002 Huskies
1998 Lady Vols
What SC has accomplished this year speaks to how well Dawn has recruited and managed the roster. They've been relatively healthy...
I certainly think AE would be a wonderful choice for one of the spots. I said I could see three or four others and she would certainly be one of them. Holmes would be another and she made the team last year.
There will be no bad vibes from me if she makes it.
Those five are good choices but I could see putting Kitley over Watkins.
For the 10 member team Kitley will be there and probably Cardoso, Pilli, and Reese. The last spot I could see going to possibly three or four others.
I agree. I heard about it via text while I was traveling and didn't see anything until later that night. Based on the media outlets I suspected near bloodshed but instead it was largely a nothing burger.
I'm not surprised Brink is going pro and think it's the right call. She will be the number 2 pick and get to play in LA. The Sparks have a lot of gaps to fill and she will have the opportunity to contribute immediately.
Honestly this is encouraging despite the fact I have no vested interest in Clemson. When I lived in the ATL area for years I was struck by the fact UGA and Clemson didn't seem to care about WCBB very much at all (and in UGA's case basketball period). Not every team can be in the upper tier of...
That's one of the reasons I thought she had a chance to hang around one more year even though I didn't think it would change the eventual outcome. Elzy seems like a good person and may just not be cut out for being a HC at the SEC level.
The LSU team with Kim, Angel plus two on paper awesome portal pick ups followed closely by a UConn team that fans here were salivating over were garnering most of the attention prior to the start. I'd say everyone knew SC would be very good based on talent alone but not many would have guessed...
For all the criticism levels at Harper and UT, Banghart hasn't exactly set the world on fire either. While her expectations aren't as high at UNC, others have pointed out she is getting talent but is getting out coached and her players don't seem to be putting it together.
What Dawn has built is impressive. I thought she would do well at SC but never did I dream she would get the program to this level. They are heavy favorites for sure.
The records are different accomplishments of course because the game itself isn't the same. Era comparisons are very tough and really not fair because the circumstances aren't comparable.
Also if anyone came along and shot as much as Pete did there would be fans here posting about him or her...
You make valid points and there is never any real way to guess who makes it and who doesn't. I think Jackson has more upside but that's no guarantee either.
I'm far from an expert so I strike my statement those two fine players may not stick in the league.
Last year people were speaking that Boston might return for year 5. I never thought she would as she was the clear number one draft selection and in that case players should move on.
I know Kitley, Holmes, and Jackson all came back for year 5 but I'd say only Jackson will likely stick in the...
Which is why for someone like her it makes sense to go pro. NIL is of course a factor but it's silly to think her endorsements weren't going to keep her under contract just because she's not enrolled at Iowa.
Playing college basketball isn't easy as these ladies still have to take classes...
I was aware of Woodard but not Moore until just this year. I recall Woodard being mentioned when Plum and Stiles were chasing the record but Moore wasn't mentioned (to my recollection).
Honestly, why did the NCAA recognize coaching wins in the AIAW but not player achievements? It seems strange...
I posted a couple of weeks ago Mississippi State had 6 games left and all were winnable but none would be easy. Sure enough we've lost four straight and probably find ourselves on the bubble again. The scores have been eye popping as the team suddenly isn't playing defense apparently because the...
Much how power 5 football programs have bye weeks, always one but sometimes two in a season, basketball teams should be afforded the same luxury. Even the holidays in November and December often feature tournaments which take away from time with their families or even just resting from...
Your points about Watkins are valid, but anyone who walks into the situation at USC, becomes the program leader and immediately makes them a contender in a loaded conference is going to be recognized nationally. Per the ESPN page, she's shooting 41.7% overall and 34.5% from 3, while USC is at...
Not shocked that Aubrey and PB are coming back. Aubrey will have to get healthy. PB probably wants to win a title with Fudd if possible.
If the ladies are happy where they are, there is literally no reason to rush things.
I appreciate your feedback and upon further reflection she deserves top 10. Titles don't mean everything but Clark wasn't at the top of the list that started the discussion and the six in front of her won NCs so it's not just fans on this board. I can say her college career has been better than...
Just my two cents to stir the pot but just did the top 5.
1. Stewart (4 titles, no one else can match).
2. Taurasi
3. Holdsclaw
4. Moore
5. Miller
Clark may very well belong in the top 10 but tough to place her now because she hasn't won a NC. If Iowa manages to win one (a tall order) she may...
Watched the game and it's clear who the superior team in the country is right now. SC looks better than last season and checks more boxes. I think it's a tall order for anyone to take them out of the tournament given how wide the gap is between 1 and 2.
UConn looks how they should given their...
