    Borges confirmed: Hass is staying

I did consider that factor and if that's what Diarra is waiting on. Maybe the staff does view him as a PG but he didn't do it much at St Mary's

    Borges confirmed: Hass is staying

I'll start getting nervous when UConn starts being listed as reaching out to transfer PGs on Twitter

    Aidan Mahaney

This also just feels like an incredibly weird conversation to have when it appears we're bringing in a max of 2 transfers this year. This isn't even a case where next year is gonna be a transfer heavy team

    Aidan Mahaney

It was shortened by early in Big East play. You definitely need at least 10 competent players because of injuries and foul trouble, but in a given game Hurley was still rarely going past 8 for any real minutes. It evened up over the season for guys like Calcaterra, Alleyne, and Diarra but they...

Koby Brea entered the portal. Please please Coach Hurley

Won't take them out of the race, but relevant

    Aidan Mahaney

This type of logic is how you end up with mediocre teams. Imagine if we didn't bring in Tristen Newton because we wanted to hand the keys to Rahsool Diggins and Jalen Gaffney? Or if we didn't bring in Cam Spencer because we had some freshman wings on the roster? I agree that the returning guys...

    Aidan Mahaney

You weren't even wrong though, Diarra was the 9th man 2 years ago and he barely played down the stretch. I can see Hurley going to 9 this year where (as of now) we'll have a lot less top end talent needing 30+ minutes but it's hard to see it going beyond that

    Aidan Mahaney

Ball and Ross are unhappy in that scenario, especially if Ball is only getting 15 minutes. Which isn't a reason to not do it, I think you can carve out enough minutes for Ball and whoever comes in between Brea or Mahaney as long as you can convince someone to come off the bench. Ross is a...

    Aidan Mahaney

Talent wise Brea but there's more minutes for a guard to come in over a wing so for that reason I'll say Mahaney

2024 Recruiting: Liam McNeeley, the Second of His Name, 2.0

I was talking about the poster. The ranks he was quoting all aligned with Diarra staying in each scenario

2024 Recruiting: Liam McNeeley, the Second of His Name, 2.0

#5, but I think all of his numbers were with the assumption of Diarra back in the OP. They don't seem to match otherwise

2024 Recruiting: Liam McNeeley, the Second of His Name, 2.0

Ridiculous number for who was asking for it. No matter how much people here want to bury their heads in the sand and deny it, UConn has competitive NIL and that's a positive thing
  16. navery12

Koby Brea entered the portal. Please please Coach Hurley

Agree on Kansas but I feel like Duke has an entire roster of 4's and 5's and then Tyrese Proctor and Darren Harris. Plenty of minutes still available for a guard unfortunately
  17. navery12

    Roster Hopes

I'm not sure there's much playing time for Ross or Abraham anyway if we bring in McNeeley and no other guard, so hopefully they're OK with that
  18. navery12

Koby Brea entered the portal. Please please Coach Hurley

Prediction: He plays for a blue blood next season
  19. navery12

    Roster Hopes

Yeah not sure what's behind the paywall but nothing has been reported publicly and as of mid last week Diarra was still saying he was undecided but would know soon
  20. navery12

    Roster Hopes

I've been saying we should add McNeeley and someone like Koby Brea but I feel like it'll be either or at this point. Hopefully it's McNeeley but either one would be really productive for the 1 year we'd have them Would like Karaban back, if not Kasean Pryor or TJ Power (if there's even still...

    Roster Hopes

Diarra hasn't said anything to confirm he's coming back yet, just speculation he will

2024 Recruiting: Liam McNeeley, the Second of His Name, 2.0

Yeah I think a realistic way to look at it is 2 of Ball, Stewart, McNeely would start. That's a really strong bench with whoever loses that competition plus the loser of the PG and C battles
  23. navery12

Why haven’t the Big 12-Big East Battle matchups been announced yet?

They're figuring out a way to screw UConn. Or something

Honey mustard is the answer. Though some of the other options thrown out here are intriguing

That was the rumor but there's been nothing reported about UConn being interested or reaching out

Dook lost Sean Steward...Mass exodus near complete...

There's very little chance the plan works, but this was intentional by Duke. When you bring in an entire recruiting class of elite forwards your current ones are going to leave

    2024 Recruiting: Nolan Traore

No relation to Nolan Traore. It's a pretty common last name in France. Nolan's brother Armel is in the 2024 NBA Draft though and was a teammate of Victor Wembanyama

    Yarin Hasson

I got in the car the other day and the Yankees post game show was on. They were talking about tagging your X's with some hashtag for a chance to win and I was very confused why they wanted to cause relationship problems with exes for about 2 minutes

Xavier’s Desmond Claude enters the transfer portal

It's not about hurt feelings, it's about bringing in talented players who also fit with the current roster. And he's not a good fit when you're expecting a big jump and lots of minutes for Solo Ball. I have no problem recruiting over guys with transfers, but I don't think that's a smart move...

Xavier’s Desmond Claude enters the transfer portal

Hard pass here, he can play but this would more than likely lead to unhappy returning players

    Steph Castle declares

It's easy to look at this as a blah announcement because this was the plan before he got on campus and we knew it was coming. But there are tons of top recruits with the same expectations every year who don't meet them. He deserves this
  34. navery12

    TJ Power entering the Portal

No, because most of the class of 24 will be in the NBA. They have something like 4 projected one and done lottery picks in the class of 24, so those guys declare and Boozer replaces them
