One thing that jumps out to me in a big way: this guy is not afraid of a challenge. Mississippi State, Washington State, and Texas Tech have a lot of unique difficulties despite being in P5 conferences during his tenures.
This sucks to see but it’s reality in college football right now. A lot P4 caliber players at G5 schools are going to be picked off and there’s not much anybody can do about it. Short term, recruiting (HS and Portal) better than the rest of the G5 when the dust settles should still be the goal...
Donated last night. I encourage others to do the same if they can, even if it’s just a little bit. It’s a good opportunity for the fan base to be a part of the solution.
The app worked flawlessly and the broadcast itself was fine. I was surprised there weren’t any ads during timeouts. Significantly better experience than ESPN+ and FloSports. And free!
This is exactly how I feel. I’m a believer there’s a non-zero chance that when the well runs dry for the ACC after the biggest assets leave, we’re headed back to some semblance of the old BE - even if it’s a scheduling alliance with the scraps. Whether our football program can stay afloat in the...
Fair point, I must have mixed them up with another series. I won’t be shocked to see some games changed with the CR movement. The series makes a lot of sense to continue for both sides.
This isn’t like the late Diaco or RE2.0 years. The players are physically competitive enough to win most of the games we’ve played this year.
This is a critical offseason to get the coaching staff in order, it’s time for a shakeup.
Fair to be a little concerned, but not pushing the panic button yet.
NC State’s defense has more talent than we do right now. That’s just reality. Let’s see how the next few weeks play out.
I’m looking into going to this game myself. I’m going to call the ticket office and see what’s up, but my guess is sections 6-8 would be best bet (visitor sideline & not student sections).
Candidly I thought Roberson would get the nod having won the job last year, but I’ll trust the coaching staff that brought the first semblance of competitive college football in a decade on this one.
I think a redshirt year would serve Zion well - I think he could be great for us down the road. Hats off to the kid for helping this team get to 6 wins. Some of you need to lighten up.
You may ultimately be right, but it’s a little too soon to say, no? We were net winners in the portal last year with basically nothing but Mora’s name going for us. I’m intrigued by what they can do with some real momentum.
This is the nature of college football in 2022. I’m sure there will be other significant transfers out…. We just need to end up net winners via the portal.
I mean what more can be said about Mora and this staff. They had enough stacked against them coming in - then add all of the injuries.
The fact that this team got smacked around the last few weeks and was able to bounce back like this is truly amazing.
We’ve been through so much, enjoy every...
Until the defensive line can start getting pressure on their own, it’s hard to play press coverage without getting burned. I love that Mora dials up the blitz more than we’ve seen in recent memory, but at some point we have to see some pressure with 3 and 4 man rushes.
That’s a game that would’ve unraveled in the second half over the past several years. Offense couldn’t get anything going and the defense was on the field too much in the second quarter, but they recalibrated at half time.
They won’t be happy with the result, but the players should be proud of...
There’s not really a good way to spin this. If it’s personal/family related issues, I wish Spanos the best. If it’s performance/team chemistry related then we have bigger issues, but I do trust Mora to figure it out. Just have to wait and see.
Last year’s offensive line could’ve been significantly improved with an offense that wasn’t entirely vanilla and predictable for most of the year.
The influx of capable players this off-season is an added bonus up front.
In my mind 3 wins would be good, anything more would be great. Ideally putting beating on an FCS team for once and keeping the P5 games interesting into the 4th quarter more times than not.
It’s hard not to be excited listening to Mora talk about this team. We’ve been through so much as a fan base, but it feels like we’ve finally got something here.
I’m not going to die on the hill of defending Edsall, but I don’t think the bolded line above is totally fair. I don’t think the issue was so much recruiting decent players as it was keeping them on campus for more than a year or two. Too many freshmen and sophomore contributors transferred out...
