    Maryland Lost! (Merged thread)

I'm proud of the Tx team. We were pretty awful at the first of the season and I don't think we have been ranked, except for awhile in the 20's earlier in the season.

Maybe now the experts will stop wetting themselves over Baylor

Baylor didn't look very good today. I don't know if they were looking ahead or if they're just not that great. They're not as good as the great Baylor teams of the past. But Smith is the best player on the court in about every game they play. They have zero depth and Richards wasn't looking...

Iowa St. Got Cheated (merged thread)

TA&M obviously should not have been a #2 seed. Only with a lot of help from the referees have they made it soon. I think the committee overseeded them and underseeded Baylor so they could set up a UConn-Baylor game.

    How Great Was That?

The best team in WBB won the championship this year. Even with the injury that took out Baylor's most important player, they still hung on and won. With Cox, I think this year's Baylor team is one of the better women's teams ever put on the floor, right up there with some of UConn's great teams.

    Baylor (1) @ Texas (12) - 2/04/19

I'm saying that we may gain confidence by playing Baylor a tad closer than UConn. You should take that as a compliment. Yes, I know we were on our home court. To DeeHusky. It's irrelevant, but Lashann Higgs was indeed a McD All-American. In my eyes and in the stat book, she got better every...

We came closer to Baylor than UConn. Doesn't matter, but still a nice feather in our cap. Maybe will give us confidence.

    Baylor (1) @ Texas (12) - 2/04/19

Wrong on both counts. If you didn't know, Prince is out for the year with an injury. We have no one who can shoot or play like Higgs. Just check the stats.

    Baylor (1) @ Texas (12) - 2/04/19

Wrong. How can you say we have the talent to match? We don't have the size, we have few natural shooters. We lost our best guard and our most promising post player to injury. These things are not Karen Aston's fault. We can beat some people, but not likely to beat Baylor.

    Baylor (1) @ Texas (12) - 2/04/19

Wrong. We do not have the talent to match. Just look at the shooting percentages. Aston has her strengths and weaknesses, but this loss will not be because of Karen Aston. We don't have any real shooters this year. A couple of our best lost to injury, a couple of recruits that didn't work...

    Texas @ UTRGV

What makes you think we have uber talent? Our best player out with ACL, losing our two best players from the last four years to graduation, our hopefully super 6'7' post out with broken leg, playing freshmen a lot who were not highly ranked. I think our future is bright, but we have indeed...

    Lexi Gordon

Hoopsfan22, you make it sound like it's a great experience to be on the UConn team, even if you never get off the bench. Maybe so, I don't know. What exactly is the lesson being taught that you refer to? Has UConn never had a player leave because of lack of playing time? Seriously, I...

Predictions for Big Sunday (Dec 2)

ND, Uconn --- pick 'em. Very close game. Baylor over SC easily. Texas is a big underdog, with three huge injuries --- Higgs is the biggest loss. Holmes and Prince won't be there to compete with McCowan and Howard.

Top 5 returning players at each position

I agree with almost everything except Carter. I would pull her off the list as a great point guard. She has tremendous talent but doesn't fit my concept of what great point guards do --- she look for her own shot first, go to others the times she can't get a shot off. I don't think that kind...

    Washington Mystics @ Atlanta Dream - 8/28/18

Good luck to EDD. Regarding the conversation about Ariel Atkins, as Texas fan, I don't think she is playing that much differently than she ever has. Big 12 teams knew to key on her much more than the pro teams have, of course. She never got a lot of national publicity at UT, not sure why...

Statue planned for former hoops star A'ja Wilson

This statue thing to sports figures on campuses is getting ridiculous. We have some here, and it embarrasses me. I believe we have some Nobel Prize winners on the faculty (can't name them), and they certainly don't have statues. These are just games after all. They provide entertainment and...

    Transfer Thread Pt 2.....

Donalddoowap and skilz do not think Texas has a good coach. Let me remind you that you only beat us by 4 points this year, and we were ahead the majority of the game. It's only a matter of time. (I expect Danni Williams to start. She fits a hole we need filling.)

Next year we flip --- Great strength in the front court, but will we have the guards to handle their part? There was great praise for Wallace last night, but announcers pretty much ignored Brooke McCarty, who scored 32 and kept Texas in the game. Even better than Wallace last night. We could...

    SIAP - Kim Mulkey video

It's not because I'm a longhorn fan, it's because it is weird and unprofessional that Kim would go after a reporter like that. It was an opinion piece and it's great that WBB reporters would think so much about the teams and write such a long piece. Kim's behavior had nothing to do with...

On Publicly Humiliating a College Student-Athlete

As an outsider, I couldn't believe my eyes if the quotes I read from Geno about AEH leaving are accurate. If what I read was right, he said she was leaving, not because she didn't fit in or like it at UConn, but because he didn't want her there, due to her never changing what he asked her to...

    Interesting fact from Texas victory...

It was really fun to watch the match up of Brooke and Crystal. They are two tough little players. I don't know why UConn gets the runs at the end of quarters. Just digging deep, or maybe Texas nerves came into play. I don't see the difference in conditioning that so any Boneyarders seem to...

Prognosticators Game 16 -Score prediction vs Texas 1/15/18 [merged]

I won't hazard a prediction, but Texas hasn't been shooting great. Brooke McCarty's shooting slump is a mystery, but she would have to break out of it for Texas to have any chance. By the way, Rellah Booth has not even been warming up. Don't know what's up. I suppose she has an injury.

    Georgia vs Texas A&M

Great upset by Georgia. They are a team with a great history, but have been down for awhile. I haven't seen Carter much, but I don't like what I read. She sounds out of control. Why would Gary Blair let her play that way? He must not have much faith in his other players.

    Oklahoma St @ Texas - 1/03/18

I know Morris is very good. Rellah could have gone in tonight, the way she has been playing. Aston seemed to be going with those who have played all year. She subbed much less than usual. I think Rellah would have held her own and possibly more so.

    Oklahoma St @ Texas - 1/03/18

Proud of our team. That was tough. Oklahoma State is underrated. They beat UCLA and lost to Mississippi State by one in Starkville, I believe. I hope Joyner Holmes gets back in form quickly, because her quickness and athleticism give Texas a lift inside.
