    OT: Summertime...Native American Powwow

I usually try to make it to the one held at Stanford every year. My step grandfather was part of the Comanche tribe out of Oklahoma so there were a couple years he got dressed up and would be out dancing. He even took me out at one point when I was little. He's been gone for a number of years...

Thought Provoking: Fans Don't Follow Women To Pros

I agree with both of you, and others, about the NBA. I've always thought the large sums of money they make factors in as well. It stops being about the love of the game, the kind of passion you see in college and the beauty of the game (especially at UConn), and more about money and...

Stewie Says Yeah I'm Staying Here

I'm always glad when players start putting down roots. Obviously players can't control when they are traded all the time, but I like the ones that stick with a team and a city for their whole careers or for most of it at least.

Thought Provoking: Fans Don't Follow Women To Pros

I still follow Seattle and Phoenix for Sue and Diana, but my favorite player in the league has always been Lauren Jackson so when she wasn't playing for a few seasons before she had to retire, it was hard for me to watch. I'd been watching since Sue's first year in 2002 and I kind of agree with...

Thought Provoking: Fans Don't Follow Women To Pros

Yeah, it's unfortunate that the league's main game access player, which plays most if not all the games, is unreliable at best. I've heard from many that it's not worth the money. The fact that there are so few games on traditional tv hurts as well. People don't follow players to the WNBA...

I am envious, I would love to be able to see Billy Joel at MSG.

OT - Live Concerts, your favorite?

    1. Billy Joel 2. ELO 3. Metallica 4. Pink 5. Linkin Park Was really happy to catch Billy on the west coast and see ELO in LA in one of their few shows in the US. They were on what I called my concert bucket list. Metallica, I've seen a few times at the Bridge concerts, only once as their actual...

    OT: Your Favorite Instrumentals

I have an incredible fascination with big band music. I love the 30s (the music, the movies, the decor). While I've never played anything, I find it hard to stop listening to the music once I start. My contribution, I listen to a lot of jazz as well. This song is a favorite because of the song...

Since I'm new to the board and it's the off season....

Players that I've actually watched: Diana, Sue, and Stewie. Players that are my favorites, but didn't get to see play at UConn: Rebecca (hence the name and picture) and Jen Rizzotti.

    2017-18 schedule

I really love that they make sure to get homecoming games for the seniors each year, especially going up to Canada for Kia.

    It was a great season...

I wonder if this will have the same affect on the team that losing in the 2001 Final Four did? I can see an incredibly bright future for this team.

Even though they won't get 5 in a row, I'll probably still get the Husky logo tattoo ;)

Poll: Who wins the final 4 games?

There's a lot of history between Tara and Dawn. To my knowledge, in coaching battles, Dawn hasn't beat Tara yet. Not using that as a reason I think Stanford pulls it off though, that has nothing to do with it. 24 years is what it takes to go from player to coach of the Olympic team, I guess? :D

    Less Angst, More Love

I'm probably along the lines of the second option. I wish I would've started watching sooner, but my first real season watching women's basketball at all was the 2001-2002 season. It started with Stanford, but when I would see UConn play, I would find myself entranced. It was beautiful...

Poll: Who wins the final 4 games?

Tara and her coaching staff have had a few days to scout South Carolina and while it comes down to how the players play (the team seems to have been up and down all season, not sure which team will show up), I would put my money on Stanford being at least well prepared for the game. Giving Tara...

Would You Get a Tattoo For 5 Straight?

Elite 8: who won't be back?

It depends on how well Lili fits into the ND system. I remember her holding onto to the ball quite a bit at Stanford and taking some unnecessary shots.

    UConn late game on Friday

Thank you, huskymedic! Right in the middle of my shift unfortunately, I'll have to sneak some peaks at the game when I can. Now, fingers crossed the right team is in the game!

    UConn late game on Friday

I'm not doing this to look ahead (I swear to the mojo gods on that one), merely curious since I have to work on Sunday, but does anyone know what time the championship game is or have they not determined it?

A good year for University of Oregon

It may never have been the intention at all, but I always felt like people kind of forgot what Nicole did for the program. She was a vital part of the growth to what they became with all the players that followed. A lot of fans became enamored with where the team had gone and how they had...

    Score prediction thread for OREGON

Wasn't there something too where an opposing coach and good friend of Geno said you never wanted to play UConn after a bad/sloppy game? While there has only been a day between games, I have no doubt (okay, maybe a little to appease the mojo gods) that they will come out incredibly focused.

    Samuelson vs Samuelson its possible

Stanford was the one that book ended the last streak and they were the ones to start this one. Still have to get through a couple games to get there though as you mentioned, and Stanford still has a tough game to get through as well.

    Geno and Veganism

A good year for University of Oregon

Nicole was kind of the epitome of the "know every position" player Stanford likes to have when they can. A lot of it was the point when they were a bit thin her first couple of years. I could see some similarities with Lou in terms of the shooting you mentioned RogueDave. There were times too...

A good year for University of Oregon

I've said it before and thought it many times, this Oregon team has really impressed me the last couple of years. They are clearly in the process of building a great team. They have a great coaching staff led by one of my growing favorites in Kelly Graves and a team that really seems to follow...

    Geno and Veganism

Vegetarian here, though I should probably move more towards being vegan since I'm slightly lactose intolerant. Haven't heard any crap yet from anyone, but it's been just under a year so there's still time, I suppose. I'm sure cutting out meat has helped me personally health wise, but cutting...

Nobody except Oregon wants to play in Bridgeport..

I really like this Oregon team and the coaching staff as well (of course some of that may be my Stanford fan coming through with Nicole Powell on the staff). They are a very positive group and they like to keep things light and fun.

    OT: Robert Osborne passes away

Was very sad to learn that he passed away. I've had a love of classic films and classic film stars for a while and have always been grateful there was a channel that was dedicated to it. Seeing Robert and hearing him introduce or talk about films after they were over was something that was...
