If this was pre- NIL and all the portal movement I would agree. Now they can buy the players he wants/needs to quickly pull together a squad. He also has a pretty blank slate to fill the roster. Next year may be rough but for his year two he has zero excuses.
His problem is that while his...
It's a bit different when it is literally the SM team at UConn bragging about it. They do a great job of promoting UConn, the teams and the players. Their video creations they put on Instagram of game highlights are usually great with non-TV angles. They deserve some recognition for what they do.
Duke has some pretty insane turnover this year. They are losing their top four scorers (Filipowski, McCain, Roach, Mitchell). Two of them to transfer. They retain five (Proctor) and six (Foster), eight (Stewart), nine (Power). Then they lose seven (Young) to graduation. They pretty much...
Hard to say from that but his FT numbers indicate he can’t but he did improve which is good. Sanogo was 0-1 from three through his sophomore year then went 19-52. So there is the possibility he just wasn’t allowed to shoot for Michigan. Sanogo did shoot better from the FT like through two...
Ross was much lower for a lot of his senior year and jumped almost 50 spots in April last year in the composite. Not sure if he was not rated by a service, or he really just jumped that much in a few used in the composite.
I think they are as high on Jason Green as UConn is on Stewart. If he pans out at the three/four they will have a capable starting five though the loss of Scheierman is still huge. They need something on the bench though. I don’t think they have anyone decent atm.
15 lbs to get up to what Oso weighed (guess and not easy with his body type) and stop reaching on defense and setting moving picks and he would be decent as a starter.
Offensively he’s fine as a center. He makes good passes, cuts well, mostly sets good screens, and plays well on the PnR...
Castle would have “trouble” defending the best perimeter scorers from 99, 04 and 23. 99 and 23 were both quick trigger shooters who ran laps to get open around screens. Castle is a great defender but UConn never faced a guard who could catch and shoot as quickly as Rip/Hawk and both were...
Agree but I just can't see him playing the three well defensively at all full time. I do think it's possible Flagg starts at the three, if you start Power. I however think they are more likely to start their new shiny SF/SG toys unless Power gets a lot stronger.
That said, I can't see Stewart...
Pope coached a very fun to watch BYU team, on offense. The defense on the other hand was wanting, IMO. It could be due to the quality of athlete he could get at BYU though.
He should be able to recruit better at UK, but he is by no means Calipari when it comes to recruiting. I am really...
I can't see Power starting at the 3. He would be a mess defensively, though I guess with Flagg and Maluach behind him he has a lot of latitude. Stewart needs a lot of work to play the modern four, he is poor shooting for a center let alone a PF, even as a backup. Good rebounder though. I...
Houston would be my non-UConn pick if healthy. They were probably better than Purdue in some ways (well basically anything not named Edey, to be clear I think Purdue would have beaten then because they couldn't stop/slow Edey without doubling) and have a lot returning, and they just have a good...
