By April 18th last year, Sanogo, Hawkins and Andre had declared for the draft and Alleyne, Springs and Hasson has announced they are transferring. Other than Clingan declaring, it's been crickets from the current guys. Should we read into that at all? Particularly the non-Castle freshmen?
Love DC, but he has played a fraction of the minutes over his entire UConn career than someone like Kemba or Shabazz played in individual seasons.
Let’s just enjoy Clingan and appreciate his incredible contribution to this program.
Calhoun is the most important figure in UConn men's basketball history. But I think Hurley is already the second most important. He has secured UConn's spot as an inter-generational national power (translation: blue blood). Calhoun is our Dean Smith, and Hurley can be our Roy Williams. Man, if...
Yes, but I feel a lot better about this year’s Big East slate than I did last year. Marquette can clip us. So can Creighton if they shoot with any level of efficiency. One of Providence, Nova and St John’s might get us, but I don’t see losing 6 of 7 anywhere on the remaining schedule.
That sucks. Just hope he is back by conference play. If Castle is out until January, the new goal is to beat Indiana and win 2 of Texas, North Carolina, Kansas and Gonzaga. Go into Big East play 9-2 and get healthy.
Hurley is an open book in this piece. About as in-depth a look into our guy's head as you can find. Fascinating read, borders on harrowing. It put my place as a UConn fan in perspective. We're lucky to have Hurley at the helm.
Most highly anticipated season I can remember. Maybe since 11-12, but that was for different reasons. So many storylines to be excited about...
Can we defend our national title?
Do we secure a Big East tourney and/or regular season title?
Does Clingan play like an All-American?
Where will...
Some of the comments here are wild. He is still on the Hornets roster this year and has a chance to turn things around. Sure it's probably his last chance, but if he rehabs hard and plays well when he's back from injury, he might stick in the league. It's not over for him.
For all his flaws...
Care to be more specific? Or we’re just going to blast the kid for letting his team down? He had the car crash incident and was punished. Obviously he’s had his personal problems in the NBA, but what else during his time at UConn?
NBA coaching is almost entirely about managing personalities. I think KO will have success in an NBA job. He failed in college because he was a bad recruiter and roster builder. Outside of some talent in the 2016 class, nearly every recruiting class of his sucked.
