I was watching the March Madness coverage and was struck by this thought. Oh, first I need to say “We’re doomed”. UConn is the only university to win titles in the same year….twice. They did it is 2004 and 2014. It is 2024!
Even my hubby, who isn't as big a UCONN fan as I am, had to comment that CD would never let one of the Huskies step on the court with those "adjustments" to their uniforms.
I think games like this help improve the players more than the 20+ point blow-outs. Digging deep late in the game to pull out the victory will provide confidence to do it again when it counts. I'd rather have our warts exposed now while there is time to work on fixing things.
Everyone's missed the obvious explanation for the bad play last night. Alex Bentley messed with the hair mojo by wearing a ponytail instead of her usual bun. Alex, please go back to bun!
Don't forget that they take the results of last season into account when determining the lottery teams. So teams that finished in the middle of the pack last season would not be guaranteed a lottery slot if they finished in the bottom this year.
Did anyone else notice at the Tulsa/UConn game how the UConn band was showing some love to the Tulsa band? It was especially noticeable during the second half when the game had been decided. Every time the Tulsa band played, the UConn band was clapping along making up arm choreography as the...
Some great analyses here. One thing that gets overlooked when filling the rosters of WNBA teams - who will put paying customers in the seats. That could very well explain why Tuck was drafted despite the position redundacy and the questionable knees. At the end of the day, the business aspect...
Had this random thought the other day. Suppose the Sun win the lottery and get the first pick that now belongs to LA. Now suppose that Diamond declares for the draft and LA picks her. It would like putting two beta fish in the same bowl. Might be entertaining to sit back and watch the fireworks
IMO it wasn't the location that caused players to bail, it was the coach. The CT Sun fans are recognized as one of the most loyal and vocal fan bases in the league.
I know a lot of people really were down on the CT SUN trade that gave up the 2017 1st round pick to obtain Jonquel Jones (there are other pieces to that trade). Reading all of these assessments of next year's draft, it appears that if you had to give up a 1st round pick, this was the year to do it.
If you go, make sure you check out the schedule for the local VFW's. We saw the great Cape Breton fiddler, Buddy McMasters, at a VFW in Baddeck. Admission was only $5. What a night of music!
Did Breanna not play in one of the NCAA games leading up to one of the three previous titles? If she played in every NCAA, tomorrow night's game makes game 24 not 23. Just asking :)
I'm nervously optimistic. I'll have on my lucky blue jeans, Grey t-shirt, all topped off with my UCONN sweatshirt. As backup, I have two loads of laundry all ready to go. When things get tense, I fold a load of clothes and that seems to right the universe. Hopefully all these offerings to...
It would depend on if you were talking about each in their prime or choosing one to be the centerpiece of a WNBA-type team. For players in their prime (Note: not saying she's past her prime!) it would be DT hands-down. If I had to pick for putting together a team for the next 5 years, it...
I am not a lawyer. This is only my opinion. If this were a marriage between a man and a woman, the man is usually still required to pay child support even if the children weren't his biological offspring. Same sex couples being granted equal rights to marry should also carry with it the same...
