    Reorganizing the NCAA's three divisions

This changes nothing except providing less scholarships to kids who may need them. The top of the food chain will still have the highest concentration of the top HS Recruits and transfers divided among them. We're talking entire rosters of 5 stars, as they will be far more selective in building...

OT: Florida State to sue ACC over GOR

You're not wrong. They signed the deal, so it's fair to say that they should live with the consequences. It's up to the courts now to determine if there was any misrepresentation in what was presented to them vs what they eventually signed. On one hand it makes sense for ESPN to keep things...

OT: Florida State to sue ACC over GOR

In fairness to the southeast, I’m a Penn State Fan from the northeast and if complete joke programs like BC, Pitt, and Cuse controlled my school’s earning potential I’d be beside myself the same as FSU and Clemson.

The Unfortunate Truth of Basketball Success

Can the game maintain even a quarter of the current audience after Clark is in The WNBA? A ton of eyeballs were added during Clark’s highly publicized chase of the scoring record. They’ve hung around to see if she can finish the deal. Will they come back next year? TBD.

Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

It’s definitely an interesting question, and honestly I think a good argument could be made that if given the choice in 2024 that UVA and UNC would prefer The SEC. Despite the more liberal nature of their academic sides, their fanbases, alums, and key boosters are decidedly old south in their...

    Big 12

I can’t see them doing anything while the fate of The ACC is still up in the air, but it does feel like karma to see them pass on UConn and then completely s*** the bed the following tournament.

    Big 12

That’s definitely got to sting for a commissioner highly motivated by the idea of The Big 12 being perceived as the premier basketball conference in America.

    PAC dysfunction

Penn State has made it abundantly clear that they are not hosting Friday Night Games. Too much of a logistical nightmare considering State College is not nearby a population center like many schools are.

As college football's elite is engulfed in a power struggle, G5 left just trying to survive: 'We are a farm system'(Ross Dellenger @ Yahoo)

Your 32 team football playoff would probably be funded a lot like the FCS Playoff as 95% of the schools that draw TV Ratings would not be involved anymore. There has to be a better way forward for everyone.

OT: Florida State to sue ACC over GOR

Competitive balance or even the illusion of it, has not really existed in college sports since their inception. This is for all sports not just football. Sure the names may change over time, but in any given time period there are only a handful of programs actually competing for titles. The...

BC’s Hafley takes job as Packers DC

I think we're going to see some spicy recruiting battles between BC, Syracuse, and Rutgers throughout the Northeast for that second tier of recruits. The additions of BOB and Fran Brown will hurt teams like Pitt, Temple, UVA, and a few others that need these mid to low 3 stars to fill out their...

    Oddest NSD ever?

The real national signing day moved up to December. Probably 95% of prospects sign during that window. All the hoopla and TV Coverage moved with it. The only activity you see in February anymore is late risers finding an open scholarship, PWO's and the rare blue-chip prospect holding out for the...

    New Streaming Service

All of the people clamoring that they are going to cut the cord, ditch cable, and stream everything should ask themselves these questions. 1) Is your current ISP a cable provider? 2) If yes what do you think will happen to the price of your internet and streaming packages when no one wants to...

Late November Games are often remembered for how numb you're a** was when the game was over. Nothing beats MSU 2002 for me. It was cool seeing LJ rush for 300 yards, but it wasn't so cool not feeling my cheeks for 2 days after.

BC’s Hafley takes job as Packers DC

On paper it's a good fit. BOB clearly has an affinity for New England, so he may stick around long enough to build a solid foundation in Chestnut Hill. My guess is that he'll be able to attract some good QBs and TEs but struggle bringing in enough talent elsewhere to actually be competitive in...

BC’s Hafley takes job as Packers DC

From a Penn State Fan's Perspective, you would be hard pressed to find anyone who would consider this current era of football a golden age. Saying this is laughable to a program that has had multiple undefeated seasons, National Titles, and won every major bowl game except for The Peach Bowl...

OT: Florida State to sue ACC over GOR

You just answered your own question for the most part. I’d add that if brands/matchups are a bigger selling point in the future than under the previous model, then they become a much more attractive option. Mediocrity or not, they remain a brand that TV can sell with the right matchups.

OT: Florida State to sue ACC over GOR

Adding the combo of FSU & Miami could make sense to The B1G in terms of negotiating their next medial deal. The old paradigm was all about adding cable markets, but the current discussion is far more centered around brands. Down or not, Miami is still a name that can be sold with The B1G...

You'll see plenty more of this IMO. College Head Coaches who desire to coach football, jumping to NFL Positions in order to sidestep the constant drama of the Transfer Portal + NIL Era. While I don't feel bad for millionaire head coaches, I can't imagine having to put up with the 24/7/365 BS of...

What is the end game in a P2 world?

I think casual fans and gamblers make up a far bigger swath of CFB Fandom than you are suggesting. There are millions of people, many with degrees from non P4 FBS Schools, who want to watch games between big name programs in key time slots. The ratings prove this. There are thousands of...

    PAC dysfunction

I'm pretty sure that we will see The Pac 2 fully absorb the MWC at the end of this two-year scheduling arrangement. UMass to SEC ?

3 titles actually, but who cares? This is not a discussion on Penn State. This is a discussion on Umass. Should that program exist at the FBS Level? UMass to SEC ?

UMass makes sense as an FCS Program. They can be competitive with the right coach in place. They will never be competitive at the FBS Level. They exist in a purgatory of body bag road games and FCS/low level G5 Games at home. They have no way to appeal to their limited fan base, because what...
