    What was she looking at?

I believe i saw that the NFL is considering placing a ref in the stands to deal with the fouls that everyone in the stands sees but the refs on the field dont see. Maybe NCAAWB needs to consider the same thing.

    Refereeing...A Plea

I take it you haven’t been to many mens or women’s tournament games. TV is afraid to call out bad calls. You need to see some of the consistently bad refs in person to appreciate it.

    Refereeing...A Plea

Many of us came to the women’s game over the past few years not only because of the excellence of UCONN but because the women’s game had a flow. The UCONN men’s team this year comes closest to the flow of the women’s game. However, as women’s coaches have teams with less talent have studied...

UConn vs. Syracuse post game - on to the sweet 16!

No that smell was the refs. they heard there are opening for women’s refs next year so they were just trying to show they would fit right in in the Big East

Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

There is a good. Case to be made that the NCAA has already ceased to be the governing body. It however will continue to count its revenues until the next shoe drops.

You Can't Fool The NET. UConn still 4th.

Even with Edny , Purdue isn’t exactly overwhelming Ohio State at halftime.

    Butler didn't do it ThoughtZ™

Only problem with that observation is—why was it called at this point when it was going on by both teams all night. The inconsistency is disturbing.

    Chief’s Briefs - St John’s Edition

We have seen these 3 refs fairly consistently over the last few years. They are consistently——inconsistent.

    UCONN Home Game Atmosphere

You have obviously never been to Green Bay. All the streets and hotels and dining places are named for Green Bay hero’s. Seats in the stadium are handed down from generation. Many practices are open to visitors. Storrs is nowhere in the same league as Green Bay.

    Chopping block

Why? We had one AD who let Louisville take our place in the ACC while he partied in the Bahamas. [he is now dealing with a real mess at Michigan]. His predecessor was a real loser whose hires killed the Football program. Benedict brought us a winning mens BB coach and a real find for head...

    Maryland vs UConn

When we moved here over 30 years ago it was imposssible to get men’s or women’s tickets at XL. I think 2 or 3 things have happened. 1. TV. Almost every game is on tvmm 2. The fans are aging. Frankly the steep XL steps and the randomness of assigning season tickets are a turnoff to some...

Ever Seen a Play Reviewed, Called on the Field and then Reversed a couple minutes later?

R u saying these are ACC refs? If so we would be better with refs from a Div 3 conference. On the big screen at the Rent, there is no way our player led with his helmet. He was standing straight up. I also thought there were several first down calls right in front of us where they called a...

    Fagnano it is

Good analysis I’ll add one more. Our defensive backs going back to Red Pants often run with their back to the ball making either for an easy catch or making it easy for the zebras to call interference. Last night that caused a missed easy interception in the end zone and caused an interference...

Dom Amore: If Big 12 calls, UConn will have to choose between Big East love and Power Five money.

Having sat in seats at the 50 yard line on New Year’s Day for the Rose Bowl,I’m amazed you would compare it to the Rent. I’m only 6’ tall and I had to sit sidewise in my seat. I wont go into the other substandard aspects [by todays standards] of the Rose Bowl , yes concrete might have been...

Dom Amore: If Big 12 calls, UConn will have to choose between Big East love and Power Five money.

What about soccer, tennis, Lacrosse, track etc. the travel cost alone is mind boggling . I also am amused by Ct.s push for electric cars, windmills, banning pipelines etc. Somehow that seems out of sync with flying all over the country. But consistency has never been a hallmark in the college world.

“ a little heavier”. I take it math is not your strong point. A minimum of 50000 to 60000 is five or six times basketball. Do you even go to BB games in Storrs? Penn State has added highways but before they did, fans were arriving on Thursday and leaving on Monday rather that sit in traffic for...

Dom Amore: If Big 12 calls, UConn will have to choose between Big East love and Power Five money.

I’m disappointed to see your comment re the rent. The fan experience at the aren’t is far better than at ND, Penn State, Northwestern, the Rose Bowl and others. The Rose Bowl and ND, in particular are antiquated and as a six footer, impossible for me to sit forward in. Yes it is small for Big 12...

How did they lose all those games?

I know this will ignite all the facebook contributors who hate anyone who doesn’t worship the refs. One of the refs last night reffed quite a number of our BIG East games. There was an article somewhere else about the specific games. Despite popular beliefs , the refs so set the tone of a game...

I’d hate to see it as a tactic to follow, but she works the refs at every stoppage in play. I dont know why they put up with it but it obviously impacts their judgement.

If you mean they guarded Lou well, does that mean with continual holding? At one point in the second half, 4 of our players had their shirts out of their pants on the back. A coincidence? I think not.

    UCONN - Villanova Post-Game thread

Maybe I should expand on the unhappiness with the reffing or the lack there of. Yes this is the big east and its really football in shorts or for those from Philly, roller derby with out skates. It’s really the inconsistency that is maddening. An over the back obvious foul is not called and...

    UCONN - Villanova Post-Game thread

I cant let the comment “the refs let the players decide the game”. Then why is UCONN paying them. To me that comment means they weren’t doing their job, which they weren’t. this game could easily have gotten out of hand Just like the Tennessee game because of referee incompetence.

    UCONN - Villanova Post-Game thread

The difference between UCONN and most other teams including NOVA is that this is such a tight knit, talented team than any of the players can lift the team when others are struggling. Today that was Griffen I agree that Mady has a beautiful shot but what was here stat of % of shots made. It...

    NEVER play TENN again

I think there was a mixup in assigning refs. Someone thought there were to ref a Big East mens game where the refs are clearly in over their heads

    NEVER play TENN again

Geno built this program partially by taking on all comers. The real problem is whomever sets up the referees for the game. For quite some time, for big games in regular season and in the tournament we got the same ponytailed ref who could be counted on to make questionable calls against UCONN...

    Donny Marshall

Is anyone else tired of hearing him plead for the return of the jump ball. Do we really want to go back to that? Being old enough to remember that, it slowed the game down, disrupted flow and resulted in many mismatched size jumps.

    Donny Marshall

I think Donnie had it turned around. I think he meant to say BR refs are in a league of their own-minor league.
