Those 3 guys averaged 15, 13, and 11 mpg in conference play. Hurley definitely shifted things around based on matchups/who was playing the best but overall is was definitely a 9 man rotation until Hass got trimmed out in the NCAA tournament.
Obviously still a ton of dominoes to fall here and multiple spots open, but Torvik released 2025 projections/rostercast. Has us #5 with AK back and adding Liam, 7 with AK back and no adds, 14 with AK gone and adding Liam, 38 with AK gone no adds.
Just interesting early data points that will be...
Torvik came out with 2025 projections today and has PC at #41. That's with a basically complete roster so in all likelihood they get jumped by others as rosters round out and end up in the 45-50 range.
The quote just doesn't even make sense. How can you be the leader when you don't even have a visit? And if you get a visit you'll be a serious player? Sounds like more like trying to make up ground to me.
He shot 36% from the field for the season and was 33/31/89 in conference play which is pretty rough. He doesn't turn it over because he doesn't pass haha, guy had 10 total assists this past season and 7 the year before that.
Yeah I'm not sure what KE is going for with his current transfer adds. Taking in a bunch of low/mid level starters and role players from non tournament caliber teams isn't going to cut it.
This is some revisionist history at its finest. Newton was an all AAC player who averaged 18/5/5 and Cam was the best player on a bubble team who averaged 13/4/3 on 44/43/90 shooting splits. They both outperformed initial expectations here but to say they weren't highly coveted transfers is just...
No it really isn't even remotely comparable. Entering last year our starting lineup included the reigning tournament MOP, a college ready 5* freshman who was one of the highest ranked recruits in UConn history, an all B10 caliber veteran guard, the same stretch PF and a all american talent...
Purely hypothetical at this point but if we bring in Hausen, McNeely and Reed I just don't see that lineup being close to final four caliber. If you compare a potential starting lineup to this year we would be clear cut weaker at every position besides AK.
I do agree that it would set up nicely...
He's pretty clear cut not a Top ~20 coach so it's crazy to me how many people are saying it's a good hire. Based on what? 8-11 in conference/NCAA tournament setting and hasn't beaten a Kenpom top 50 team in that sample (0-6).
I haven't watched one second of film but he's a consensus top 15 5* recruit that the staff is high on, that should be more than enough for us to be very confident in his potential.
Found this to be a super interesting breakdown that really demonstrates the importance of the BE getting more teams in the tournament. Using these numbers for last year we likely made each Big East program a little over a million dollars with our championship run.
Let them keep crying, wanting anything. but the easiest road possible is crazy to me. The difference between Hurley winning a title last year and going back to back is monumental.
This is definitely worth a watch/listen for anyone who has time/questions. He does a good job explaining and clears up basically all of the things I've seen questioned.
Not exactly the transparency that I was hoping for. Hopefully more information is provided because I really like some of the guys involved in the project but could do without these salesmanship type of answers.
Definitely want to know where this $10/month is going. Is it all being contributed directly to NIL or are we paying for admin costs/bloggers/etc. with a portion going to NIL?
I've never understood why fans can scream all sorts of obscenities at coaches and players but they are supposed to have zero reaction and just walk through the tunnel. Don't dish it if you can't take it, and as long as things don't get physical I have zero problem with the chirping.
100% fair enough. I'm not at the point where I think KE has proven to be a solid coach yet but he is certainly ahead of Neptune. It's a bit hard to judge him this season with the Hopkins injury but they still have 2 other all conference type players and are pretty clear cut worse than last...
Kim English is going to have his work set out for him this offseason. He's losing Oduro/Gaines and very likely Carter. Gets Hopkins back but tbd in what form and has the 107th ranked recruiting class. They could be in for a very rough season.
I'm pro as many BE teams as possible but them getting in at 18-15 would be pretty gross. They really should need to get to 20 and play on Saturday IMO.
Seriously, it's almost like single elimination tournaments have extreme variance and counting his 5 seasons at Fairfield makes no sense. Prior to last season Hurley had 2 tournament wins in 12 seasons as a HC.
He's a no brainer over Neptune IMO. I'm also taking him over English and am iffy on Holloway.
What Neptune is doing at Nova is boarderline malfeasance. 34-30 over 2 years with the core that he's had and $ they've spent on NIL is horrific. The guy inherited 3/5 starters and the 6th man from a 2...
I agree that we are better than Purdue but do think they should be ranked above us at this point. Losing @NW in OT and @Nebraska isn't any different from our loss @SH. They have also beaten a TON of really good teams. Wins over Tennessee (KP-6 and proj 2 seed), Marq (KP 15 and proj 2), Alabama...
