I am from Bristol and I started going to games to watch Laura Lishness play . Later Kathy Ferrier played. Started season’s tickets in 1995. COVID stopped my run of season’s tickets. Been to five winning Final Fours. Go Huskies.
Once and maybe the only time Geno was miked up for a game he made the comment after Svet did something he didn’t like , he said “Those damn Europeans”.
I believe that during a game with Rutgers the game had to be paused for a leaking roof. We were in the same row as Svet’s mom. We told her (through a student translator “How much we loved her daughter “) and the translator said how the family loved UCONN and the USA.
Doesn’t seem like many fans of the Boneyard were able to attend the game. My first year for seasons ticket. Attended games before because being from Bristol I knew Kathy Ferrier and Laura Lishness.
Were you at Gampel for the TN/CT game? Awesome atmosphere. How many fans left early? Probably they could be counted on your ten fingers. Victory topped off with Aretha Franklin’s Respect. Our coaches and women’s players have been able sustain the program for all the following years. Thank you.
How many of you were at the MLK day game? How many left early? Probably could count the number on your ten fingers. Aretha Franklin /Respect summed it up. The ride continues even with the obstacles our young women have had to overcome. Go Huskies.
All UCONN has to do is get healthy. If Nika and Dorka are ready for Sunday the future is better. Remember last year and it ended in another trip to the Final Four. Merry Christmas to all.
Favorite photo of Doty was in the San Antonio newspaper after winning the National Championship. Arms spread out looking at the confetti stars falling from above. Wish I had the skills to get that picture.
Svet. As Geno once said when miked up for a game “those damn Europeans” when Svet didn run the correct play. Also at a Championship dinner at the Aqua Turf, Geno got booed by everyone when he said “ I have to keep it short because Svet had to get the dress (she was wearing )back to the cocktail...
UCONN has won the last eight games in the first half . Their stifling defense has kept the opponents under 20 points. Has anyone else been keeping track of that stat? Go Huskies no matter where they put us.
