They're playing each other 4 times in 2 years since they can't fill out an Indy schedule. Basically like a basketball H/H, a few weeks apart.

Liberty and New Mexico St. play twice this year. Why? Indy>MAC/CUSA/SunBelt ...but it is going to get dicey pulling 8 games in essentially 13 months. Hope we don't have to pull a crazy stunt like Liberty/NMS did.

I believe an AAC team can (technically) have a shot at the playoff but the stars need to align and it is certainly a 2-3 year process including all of the following: -NY6 win over P5 team in prior year -1 or fewer losses in prior year -2+ P5 top 15 wins in current season -2/3 wins over ranked...

As bad as it's been since 2011, I've been thinking: 2015 Defense + 2017 Offense = 8-9 win AAC team. I really hope this defense can be serviceable in 2019 whether it is with Crocker or a new DC. I refuse to believe no matter how undermanned/young our D is that they would still be giving up...

The offense was completely unbearable at times under Diaco but 2018 has made me realize that maybe the sub-par defense/putrid offense combo was better than the opposite we are experiencing this year.

Would love to see a good showing at the Rent for the UMass game. Gonna be a tough ticket to get though when we start off 7-0, beating 3 ranked teams! :D

We have played to the level of our week 1 opponent 5 straight seasons. Here's hoping we can continue the trend this year!

I know UCF had a good season but we'll see how they hold up in front of 19K rabid UConn fans!! Seriously though, maybe the trend of playing to the level of our opponent in week 1 will continue in 2018 and actually build some momentum this time.

Honest question: Is it fair to call out the heart of the players this season? The ceiling HAS to be higher than this!!! I understand that we essentially returned 2 rotation players from a bad team last year. But watching the games this season it looks like a poor man's 2009-10 UConn team...

In July I thought 15-0 After Holy Cross: 1-11 So I'll take 3-4. Much more encouraged by the PROGRESS more than anything else. If that continues, I'll be happy regardless of record and I'll look forward to a 15-0 season in 2018.

I think the brand power of the opponent has a lot to do with it. Look at the 30k+ games during the Diaco era, no matter how good (or unwatchable) UConn was, people would show up for brand name programs and USF who is probably the strongest 'rival' we've had in the past decade. If we played...

What a great game. I really miss seeing the Rent like that all the time, it's sad to me that students over the past 6 years haven't been able to experience that kind of football (with the lone exception of Michigan in 2013).
