I made a bet with a guy who graduated from Marquette. I took UConn but gave 20 points. Westbrook was the MVP as far as I am concerned. Her 3 at the end saved my behind.
I live in the New North End of Burlington, where there is a small brewery called Simple Roots. I like the beer at that place. Others have touched on the other breweries. I do NOT like the beer at the Vermont Pub & Brewery.
As for places to eat, Pho Hong has the best Vietnamese food I have...
I was at the game. (Still here.) The refs let so much off the ball contact from UCLA but then called touch fouls on us. many elbows and stiff arms not called. The physical play got to UConn. No doubt about it
They got it together in the 4th. Looking forward to Sunday.
"John Becker (Vermont - age 49): Took over in 2011/12 and has turned the Catamounts into the class of that league, with seven straight 20-win seasons. That includes two NCAA tourney trips (and one win) and two trips to the CBI semifinals. He's an elite offensive coach, as they net out at 20th...
"John E. Hoover: Big 12 Conference expansion was always just a bluff to get more money."
It sure feels like this is true. Brings back memories of when the Patriots said they were moving to Hartford. Everyone in CT got all excited and then, bam, they didn't come after all. Turns out it was...
This, this, this. The late "smart" money had Denver beating the Pats. I think 70% of the money was bet on the Patriots. The professional sports bettors waited until the last minute to put their cash on Denver. The casinos also cleaned up because they "gambled" on a Denver win/cover.
I...
I usually do not comment about UConn football, but when I do, it is because of posts like this. Sorry, dude.
I will be cheering for you in the post season. Good luck!
I was in Vegas this week. I wanted to place a bet on UConn to win the NC next year but the odds were 25 to 1. I declined that bet. I only checked one casino though.
Earl was my favorite player to watch. He borrowed my roommates notes from a sociology class, however, and never returned them. My roomy took it well, and we still joke about it.
JERRY: Oh, I'm glad you're here, so we can get this all straightened out. Would you like a cup of tea?
BOOKMAN: You got any coffee?
JERRY: Coffee?
BOOKMAN: Yeah. Coffee.
JERRY: No, I don't drink coffee.
BOOKMAN: Yeah, you don't drink coffee? How about instant coffee?
JERRY: No, I don't have--...
if attendance this coming year matters, then we obviously don't already have a non-public agreement with a new conference. i figured that anyway, but this statement seems to confirm it.
The problem with the analysis is that the author assumes that a school which has granted its media rights to one conference can simply transfer those rights to another conference, with the only issue being damages. I am skeptical of that logic. Once a school has transferred its media rights...
That "lawyer" does not know what he is talking about. This statement, for instance, comes from fantasy land:
"A grant of rights is a contract between each individual school and the conference pledging the school's media rights to conference for a number of year. Like all contracts, it can be...
I remember watching some NBA commentary a few years ago. Someone asked Chris Webber (retired at the time) about the importance of veteran leadership. He said it was very important. He said that, when certain veterans talk, players listen. He then said something similar to this: "When a guy...
"Of course, as state school they can have the AD be a significant loss leader for longer than Temple, but math suggests if there is a downturn the athletic department is vulnerable."
Not sure but I believe Temple is a state school or at least is state funded.
