Mick Cronin on UCONN and some Hurley Tidbits

This was a really good interview...He has some really good insights.

    Hurley Suprises

I dont think he would throw wrinkles for the heck of it....but Hurley seems like the type of coach that keeps some stuff secret until tournament time. I think I recall an Interview with Calhoun, or maybe another coach that talked about keeping a few things for the tournament that you don't...

    Hurley Suprises

It seemed last year that Hurley unveiled a number of wrinkles that they did not reveal during the regular season. Did anyone else notice that last year. I am curious what different dynamics he will add to their offensive sets this year. Adama with the 6 assist in the first half against Gonzaga...

The amount of calls that Edy gets is crazy. Like a 7'4 guy needs more help.

    My comp for Castle

I dont really see this comp at all. Butler had a completely different game. I see a lot of Derek Rose.

How would you approach the final 2 regular season games?

I agree that Hurley will put his foot on the gas...but he may deepen the rotation a little bit more to give solo and stewart a few more minutes to get them ready for the rest of March.

    Hurley post Nova presser

What I thought was interesting about both press conferences. 1. Kyle Neptune said he was happy with how they played with the exception of fast break points. How can you as a coach, after losing by 24, have that sort of assessment? 2. Hurley mentioned that Cam Spencer sometimes avoids more...

Just hope team isn’t peaking too early

There are some teams, that there is no such thing as peaking...I think this is one of them. They have been consistently good, and will just continue to be consistently good. I think under pressure, they will rise.

The NBA’s hottest prospect is a 17-year-old from Maine. Meet Cooper Flagg.

I was disappointed that he did not go to UConn...but as a Mainer, I am really excited that someone from Maine is making a splash... it kills me, because I probably will end up tuning into some Duke games. In Maine, we have very little to root for sports teams and not many high-level...

    Week of 11/13 Other Games

Remember Butler, after they went to the final four, they did loose Hayward, but they started off like 8-10 or something like that, but then were able to make the tournament, and then made the second run to the finals....not sure if this team has the ingredients, but each year is different. I...

r/CollegeBasketball user claims to have insider info on Cooper Flagg -> UConn*

I am also hearing that if he commits to UConn there might be a game in Bangor...right down the street from me...which would be epic!

Behind UConn men's basketball team's August trip to Europe: 'Valuable experience' (Borges)

As much as I would like to see it streamed...not sure if giving others early scouting capabilities on our team is ideal.

Kinda boring here; Anyone care to brag about past personal sporting achievements?

I was the backup center in my middle school rec league. Only scored 2 points on the year. Starting center doesn't show up for the championship game. I scored 25 points and pulled down a ton of boards. Everything clicked for me that day. It was a surreal experience, as everything was moving...

    Updated 2025 Recruiting Rankings

yeah, I have lived in Maine most of my life, and still do. We have rarely had any homegrown talent that even made D1 squads let alone being a top player. We have had a lot more success with baseball players. I think in the past 25 years, we probably have had like maybe 10 D1 players...maybe...

    Parking at Gampel

Okay...I have parked before in one of the lots...last time I parked at EO smith staff parking, was hoping if anyone knows if that's still available...that was a short walk to Gampel and it was close to downtown.

    Parking at Gampel

I was just curious, I am going to my annual game on Saturday. Being in Maine makes it hard to make more than one. But I was just curious if anything has changed this year for parking...is parking behind E.O. Smith still an option.

3 points on the Xavier loss

    1. When we first cut the lead to one, we substituted. Immediately we got down by 11. When a team is clicking, forget about saving energy for the end of the game...I think if we kept that squad, we could have brought it to 6-7 within a few more minutes...and then made substitutions with a lead...

    Northwestern game postponed....Here we go

the whole house had it before Christmas...4th time having covid...lasted about 2 days a piece with mild symptoms. would not have known I had it really, if we didn't decide to test because we knew someone else was positive. Really felt like very mild allergies for 2 days.

    I have no clue

I have no clue what the rest of this season will look like. However, I don't know how many teams over the years have had some mid-season meltdowns. Players start trying to do too much, they start playing differently. But they were playing at a high level earlier...which means they can again...

2023 Recruiting: Youssouf Singare Commits to UConn

Most schools recruit players for depth. They may transfer out. We may have other things on the horizon. none of us know all the conversations Hurley has to help develop the roster. Having serviceable players for depth that could break through is not a bad move... it's not the only move, but...

2023 Recruiting: Youssouf Singare Commits to UConn

2023 Recruiting: Youssouf Singare Commits to UConn

Martin was a Hurley recruit at Rhode Island. Martin was a Hurley guy. Adams and Gaffney were not terrible players. Most sub-100 recruits for any team don't become all Americans or big-time players. They can and will sometimes. So based on this list, 50% of the time, they become key...

Jaylin Stewart finds ‘perfect fit’ with UConn basketball

it really illustrates how good those teams were, when you can bench a starter who averaged 13pts per game and get better.

    2023 Recruiting: JP Estrella

True...MCI prep in Maine had some good teams until they shut their program down...Sam Cassell played there too. I teach at a school that has a decent prep program, but nobody here has got any high d1 offers, that I am aware....difference is that Estrella is born true Maine kid...we also have a...

Trust me the whole state of Maine was hyped about him. Probably the best recruit in Maine history. His brother will probably end up being a 4 star recruit too. They dominated and won state title as freshman

This is true...Corny Thompson would have been a 1st team all-American with a better cast around him.
