    OT: Tiny Pet Peeve

Dude. If you're going to throw stones, don't have a head made out of glass. List of things wrong with your two sentences: Lot's What does the lot possess? Or did you mean to contract "lot" and "is?" Or did you simply flub attempting to pluralize the word "lot" into the non-existent plural...

    Napier, Boat, And Daniels:

Nothing to do with lawyer. When I am wrong, I admit I am wrong. If I'm making a general point, and I use a specific fact to support that general point, and the specific fact is wrong, then I admit that. But just because a specific supporting fact is wrong doesn't mean the general point is wrong...

Pretty sure JC advised Charlie V to stay [EDIT - I was wrong about this - see below]. Guy got drafted 7th and made a huge contract. If he had listened to JC, he maybe moves up a couple spots the next year. Savvy of him to go when he did. Re: Boone - The fact is, Boone didn't want to be at...

    31 Turnovers!!

That's going to go over about as well as when Rafftery once - and just once - referred to Nadav Henefeld as "the Gaza Stripper."

This is going to be a fun team to watch

Really? We finished 9th or 10th in the Big East in 2011. I don't call that getting the most out of the team. The fact that Kemba led the team on a miracle run had much more to do with Kemba Walker, in my opinion, than Jim Calhoun. And the fact is that, if not for Kemba Walker and the miracle...

UVM - A simplistic review of the boxscore

Yeah man, not to be a Debbie Downer, but I'm going to hold off on the accolades for Tyler until we get about 5 games into the beef of our season. I love the fact that he is a super hard worker, and committed to the program, but declaring he is going to be "a force" is putting way too much on...

    Napier, Boat, And Daniels:

I'm viewing this as Boatright's last year. That's good for the program, because he's going to bring it every game, balls to the wall because 1). He views this as his audition for the NBA - and 2). He's a winner by nature. When discussing whether SN and RB will enter the draft, you have to...

This is going to be a fun team to watch

This team reminds me of why I started loving to watch UConn games 20 something years ago - non-stop effort, constant defense, and team-first, unselfish play. The Big Three. Somewhere back in 03ish those three traits became a bit less pronounced and became replaced with pure talent. The 06...

    Mojo Suggestions

We won with Charlie. We lost big time with Animal House (Cough - Bulls--t - Cough). Have we decided on a Ban Year Mojo inducer? This year builds to next year. If the team does well, and Ollie gets an extension, and lands a big recruit or two, then we are on our way to a great 2013/14. I...

    18 Hours Later...Random Thoughts

The word of which you were thinking was "exasperated." You were exasperated by the play of Alex Oriakhi. It was exacerbated by the fact he was, really, ex parte. An Expatriate of the UConn nation, in fact. Externally a Husky, but with an exterminated drive to win. No longer exceptional. No...

    Recruiting Handicaps

Regarding the Thread Title. I'm all for recruiting handicaps. I'm just not sure that we can get any production out of them on the court. Too much? I'm buzzed.

OT: Mebbe these boat games ain't such a good idea?

Sounds like somebody who never played basketball. I used to hate playing on dusty courts - nothing worse than slipping when you're trying to plant. I can't even imagine playing on a wet court. Player safety comes first.

    Wolf's upside?

I suppose I'm in the minority - I think Wolf is much better than I had hoped he would be, and I think he will be a nice role player on this team, and a Chuck Okwandu type player in his senior year. Last night he had a block, got some boards, look good hitting the J, was mobile. I'd like to see...

    R.J. Evans Appreciation Thread

I have very mixed feelings about this kid, but only because I already regret that he will only be with us for only a year. Other than that, Kudos to Old Coach and New Coach for bringing this kid in. Another poster said, "he reminds me of a Pitt player." That, in my view, is high praise, and I...

Reminds me of Wolf, except Wolf doesn't usually need 9 whole minutes on the court to be totally ineffective whilst picking up 5 fouls.

12-13 Kick-off: UConn vs. AIC Game Thread

I know it's early, and I'm very cynical, but I'm afraid to say that Daniels is never going to be very good. If after 1 year at UConn he can't make an impact against AIC, then I'm pretty sure you can wrap that and put a bow on it. Too bad. Seems like a really hard worker.
