“It’s a collision course. This is how it’s always had to be”

ZE doesn't have the mobility to play that consistently. He likes to play drop coverage. That is where we get Tristan, Cam, and Steph in the midgame. ZE is a better offensive player than DC, but he doesn't have the mobility to play defense like him.

How bad do you want this one compared to the others?

This is probably our best opposition since 99 in the title game. I would argue Purdue is better an 04 GTech, an 11 Butler, 14 Kentucky, or a 23 San Diego State team.

How bad do you want this one compared to the others?

Also, it is really hard to win this tournament when you are the favorite. We aren't used to this (2004 would be the best comparison in terms of a final 4, or that 2006 team).

how's the fan turnout in Phoenix?

It becomes a money thing. Going to BET games is not cheap. This isn't Indy. Back to back final 4s. I was there tonight and I will be there Monday, but I can't blame fans for not flying across the country against a team who hasn't been here since 1969. It's just reality in 2024. I will also say...

Also, think about where this puts you in titles in terms of volume in history. I also think this puts DH in the HOF at some point.

How bad do you want this one compared to the others?

Great post. 40 minutes from history. Winning a title always gives you history. But in this era, you may not see this again. Winning 2 in a row.

    UConn (-6) vs Purdue

To me, this is where my head is at. Clinigan needs to play good D, stay in the game, and make ZE work for his 20/10. Anything we get him from him offensively is a bonus imo. Purdue needs 45 points from everyone else, at a minimum. Who are they putting on Castle? Newtown? Karaban?

    Refs for Alabama game

Patrick Adam's I believe was the ref back when Hurley and Frank Haith got double technicals and thrown out a few years ago.

    Unbelievable dook stat

Pathetic. Consider UCONN beat No 1 seed Duke in the 99 and 04 final fours, and No. 1 Florida in the 2014 final 4l.

    OT: Syracuse

I love Dasher. He might the biggest idiot out there. But most of their fans realize what's going on. Cuse can get back to a respectable place. but being a top 20 program is going to be tough in a very toxic ACC. I also don't think they can hire a great coach (Nate Oats isn't going there) so...

High Knees (ESPN Article on Refs)

Anderson, the Big East official, has earned the nickname "high knees" because of the way he sprints down the floor during games. An X parody account named after him has nearly 15,000 followers. "I have a little back problem," Anderson told ESPN about his running style. "My chiropractor...

    Northwestern Scouting Report

They have no depth. I think we wear them down on the offensive end with all of our motion. Rotate guys on Buie. And ATTACK him on defense. He knows he can't get in foul trouble.

But Kentucky can score and a hot offensive team in the tourney scares me. Kentucky won handily at Auburn.

I'd also rather play Iowa St than Tennessee. Also, we are going to have a huge travel advantage if we get to Boston.

Kentucky scares me more than auburn or Illinois. Yeah they are wildly inconsistent, but if they are playing well they can beat anyone and travel well.

I think our draw is good. It's like people want crappy teams in the ncaas. Auburn is my only complaint, but like I said I think SDSU beats them.

Smart move by Marquette. I'd hold him out of the BET too.

Big East Regular Season Title Outlook

2/25 update: Big bounce back win last night after Tuesday night. No matter what Marquette does, a win at home next Sunday against Seton Hall (I hear Digger Phelps saying his famous phrase of a "payback game" plus it's Senior Day) and at worst we clinch a share of the BE regular season title...

You Can't Fool The NET. UConn still 4th.

Seth Davis said yesterday Arizona has no Q1 games left on their schedule. I would think if we win @Creighton or @Marquette, we will jump them. The other metrics like us a little better. Like @UConnTrumbull said all that matters in the end is 1 seed, Brooklyn and then Boston.

2024 Recruiting: Isaiah Abraham Commits to UConn

Can we all just acknowledge @husky429 knows his basketball. The guy lives in the film room (aka he watches a lot of games on the internet) and knows the game. No comparison between the two.

OT: Teachers of Boneyard...Back to School Time

My principal last year was the highest paid middle school in the state at 185k. @husky429 is right. There is no district were the "majority make 130k." Top of the scale in Darien probably doesn't make that.

His gf is on the womens team at uconn. He gets to showcase himself, and still be somewhat local. Good for him.
