UConn Athletics: Where the $72 million budget was spent in 2015 (CT Mirror)

First. subsidies do change quickly if you make an attempt to control it and/or reduce it. Second, UConn doesn't offer as many sports as Rutgers, but that's only part of the problem. For years both UConn and Rutgers could never generate the revenue of the Big Ten schools or SEC ones. Still...

UConn Athletics: Where the $72 million budget was spent in 2015 (CT Mirror)

That one is a little dated. Try this one: USA TODAY Sports USA Today (2014-2015) listed UConn with subsidies of $28 million and Rutgers with $23 million. UConn and Rutgers have roughly the same amount of revenue. Subsidies account for 38% of UConn's revenue while Rutgers accounts for 33%...

UConn Athletics: Where the $72 million budget was spent in 2015 (CT Mirror)

Rutgers payout is the same as it was when they were in the BE/AAC until they are fully invested into the Big Ten. There is a wait period as you pay into the Big Ten Network. Maryland took money upfront to cover cost for leaving the ACC. When they are fully invested Maryland will have to pay...

Actually, UConn is higher now. Rutgers has being cutting its subsidy that last 2 years as they get small bumps in money from the Big Ten, fundraising and expand other sources of revenue. It's down to $20 million from a nation wide high of $35 million. They hope to be subsidy neutral or close...

    So the media chimed in...

Actually UCF lost their leading rusher from last year. Murray led them with 1200 yards. Cincy has questions on offense. Winn might too much to replace. They're going to use RB by committee. Also, they lack WR and overall depth on offense. Tuberville is using a little different type of...

    Rutgers Coach claims........

Rutgers has played Vandy in a home and home series back in the early years of Schiano. Ole Miss did say no to Rutgers because they didn't want to travel to NJ as a return trip. Ole Miss was more concern with getting a 7th home game. It one reason how Arkansas end up on the schedule.

    Help....Can I trust RU?

Explain today against Western Michigan? Whitmer kept throwing passes behind the receivers. The receivers never had a chance to make plays. Also, the defense didn't show up today. Both the OL and DL stunk up the place this afternoon.

    Help....Can I trust RU?

Without bring loyalty into this look at the facts: UCONN- Whitmer has been a BIG disappointment. He has 5 INTs and no TD passes. Only Davis has over 100 total receiving yards. Also, McCombs isn't nearly what he was last year and the offense is built around a sounded run game. Overall the...

    Help....Can I trust RU?

The two don't compare. Right now Rutgers offense is further along. They have better play from the QB especially if you watched the USF game. Also, their receivers are much more capable of doing damage now that they are getting the ball.

New Big East results week 2

The score was 10-10 and UCF has just caused a OSU turnover. On the very next play from midfield UCF threw a back breaker INT. It set OSU for the go ahead TD late in the 2nd quarter. UCF never recovered. OSU didn't look like world beaters. UCF went toe to toe with them and more than held their own.

    UConn @ Rutgers Trip

The band currently sits with the student in the newly expanded part (closed end) of the stadium and that was next to where the visitors used to sit. The band use to sit at the other end of the field on the visitor side (to the side of the end zone). That is where the visitor now sit.

    $ 14 MILLION?

The BE (and NBC) better be prepared to face the wrath of ESPN with ACC playing the good little milion. ESPN might even get the Big 12 involved with a few promises. What the BE saw a few months ago would be welcomed consider what ESPN will probably unleash on Nov. 1, 2012.
