Christyn has come into her own during the BET

Christyn has come into her own during the BET. Over the course of three games she was assigned to guard three of the league's top offensive players -- Correa, Siegrist, and Lott. They shot a combined 5/33 for a total of 12 points over that 3 game stretch! Christyn deserves a lot of credit for...

    #2 in the BE ...

... is clearly Marquette. They just beat DePaul 85-71. Duffy has done a great job with them. It should be a good game on March 1st.

    DePaul vs Marquette

DePaul moves up to sole possession of second place in the Big East with a tight 87-82 victory. Of note, DePaul got exactly one point from their bench!

    Where are they now?

With Megan heading off to the WNBA, I wondered how her three classmates were doing. Lexi Gordon has found a home for herself at Texas Tech. She has become a starter, averaging 29.5 min/gm, shooting 42.4% (36.5 from 3pt), 83.6% at the line, 13.0 ppg, 6.1 rpg. Andra Espinoza-Hunter has...

Courtney is quietly putting together a nice season for ASU. She is second in scoring, second in minutes, and she provides a poised and experienced presence for her younger teammates. ASU is 6-2, their only losses are to Baylor (by 6) and Louisville (by 2). I am glad that she has found a spot...

    Anyone notice?

After last night, UConn now has five players with 100 or more assists on the season. That must be a fairly rare occurrence in the annals of WCBB.

    Durr ?

L'ville beat 0 – 11 Air Force by an unimpressive 62 – 50. Asia was not in the box score, but no mention of an injury when I googled her name. Does anyone know what is up with one of the premier guards in the country?

"Old Big East" teams in NCAA tournament

There are 10 women's teams from the old Big East conference in the first round of the tournament. So far they are 5 - 0, including two minor upsets (Miami and Pitt). The best they can do is 9 - 1, as Rutgers is playing Seton Hall, but it will be interesting to watch how they all fare.
