I love this kid. She reminds me so much of Faris, but with a smoother shot. She's always in the right spot on defense, which is so tough when you're a freshman. I actually could see her getting more time than CD by the end of the season.
I also think people fail to understand just how many UConn fans there are around the country. If the game had been anywhere in or near Texas I would have gone in a heartbeat, so most games probably feel like "home" games to the team.
Yes?
Yes? I lived abroad for three years and whenever I met a fellow American, we had an automatic bond from the start, being foreigners from the same part of the world. This is extremely common, even if you do have different cultures.
I would love to retire this statement. I get the sentiment, but this just solidifies the thinking that playing like a guy is the ideal, and most women can't measure up.
I'm totally fine with any coverage of WCBB. Puff pieces, in-detail analysis, etc. The men get this kind of treatment all the time, there is always content available comparing players through generations. I was SO EXCITED to see a mention of Jackie Stiles on ESPN.
Pamela McGee has a son and a daughter who both play professionally, Imani and JaVale! Pamela is in the Hall of Fame, and Javale has won three NBA titles, so I'd say that's pretty good!
Stewie had a totally different personality than Paige does, and that's fine! She also didn't need to step up and be the vocal leader, not with Stef and Bria and Kelly on the team. Neither did Maya, she had Tina and Renee.
Paige is certainly special, though. She recognizes that the team needs a...
Well, based on the responses here, it is brave. And I don't think speaking out on things like women's rights, gay rights, and racial issues are media-driven, personally. Megan has consistently pushed for equal pay for the USWNT, for example. She's been talking about being a gay woman in sports...
I love Megan and Sue. What great role models for young girls and boys - they are true to themselves and speak out about things that they believe in, even though it could potentially lose them fans.
Megan makes some great points in this article. The WNBA has been on the forefront of the social...
woah, what the what?? This is a bad take. We were lucky to have all of those players. Each one of them would have been a once-in-a-lifetime for most other programs.
Texas cares about beating Baylor, period. I don't know how many coaches are going to be able to do that. Although there is certainly enough talent down here that they should be able to!
They did make complaints. The school didn't care enough to do anything. Also, the students shouldn't have to file a formal complaint if any of this is true, which is sounds like it is. They can conduct an investigation and talk to any of the players who have gone on the record. But they probably...
Why would an athlete need a year to get back to full fitness after transferring? This rule has never made sense to me, especially because coaches can leave whenever they want.
I have a personal connection to one of the people in this story, and let me say that it doesn't surprise me at all, and I believe every word this woman says.
I was listening to a podcast with Steve Nash, and he said his coach in Phoenix always told them to play faster so they wouldn't get tired. Physical, slow play wears players down more than an up-tempo style where there is more ball movement and less bumping, posting up, etc.
I think it's a...
We lost one game. Have you seen the players we have coming in next year? And the next?
We've been to the Final Four how many years in a row? I fully expect them to make it back this year. That is pretty freaking dominant. If you look at the national championships UConn has won, there are...
