If there is a desire for an organization to de-risk, someone will step in and create a business looking to take on that risk. Gotta assume if we’re doing it, a lot of big programs are and it’s probably a decent business.
I mean there was a solid stretch of the season where that was absolutely the correct assessment. He was getting worked over on defense and was getting shut down offensively. He definitely picked up his game quite a bit the last stretch of the season, though there are still absolutely valid...
Truly don’t understand how anyone can be confident of this at this point. It’s certainly possible, but there are definitely some posters that massively overstate Samson’s ability and consistency so far in his career.
It’s a great option with a good homemade mayo (picked it up from French grandmother where that’s the default). Malt vinegar also a great option. I’m also not a huge ketchup person though and think that is a wildly overrated and boring condiment.
Ehh, hard to really project out since we don’t know what they’ll do in the portal. I know they’ve been connected to Maliq Brown. If they can bring in some vet guards, they could look pretty good going into next season. If they end up relying on a mostly freshman backcourt, is not going to end well.
Will always have incredibly fond memories of Northeestern, Illinois, and Purdue fans talking a big game before watching [insert best guard/wing] completely shut down.
Who argues that? There’s a difference between not being able to improve their draft stock and not being worth the risk to come back. The guys you mentioned were either not going to be drafted or would have been drafted later in the second round before this year.
A guy like Karaban could...
Hard to overstate the defensive IQ piece. I don’t know that he’s going to be able to add that much weight or strength, but his post defense as is just isn’t workable as a starting center. His fundamentals break down way too often where his arms come down or wrap up his guy with a completely...
Agree with that, my point was more that it wouldn’t make much sense for an NIL collective/university to expose themself to this very common situation of a player decommiting, and then having them walk off with a chunk of their NIL funds.
Very possibly wrong, but my assumption is these are structured such that the players aren’t actually getting paid until they’re on campus. Too much likelihood of this happening or abuse.
It was Caitlin Clark. Whether you appreciate it or not, she was the number one storyline in college basketball over the past few years as a whole by a wide margin. She was not in the championship game last year (and had not broken the scoring record), so of course there will be a huge bump...
Not sure if it’s my favorite but I look back really fondly on Clingan’s absolutely demoralizing block of Guerrier 10 points in to he 30-0 run. To have a big get a running start and get absolutely shut down like that, I thought just broke Illinois’ will.
Also the end of the shot clock Cam...
Huh? You know that the ratings estimates come from a third party (Nielsen), right? What incentive would they have to fudge the numbers and risk the credibility of their entire business? I watched and know plenty of folks that watched.
