2024 UConn Football Commit - Diego Rodriguez (Hillside, New Jersey)

It's a good strategy to recruit and build up the big guys into bigger guys over 1 or 2 years, then get transfers at the skill positions who have shown production at lower levels or have big upside from major power programs but aren't getting a lot of playing time.

    Solo Ball senior season highlights

He's very college ready. Should be a rotation player from day 1. He will need to develop point guard skills to play at the next level, but he has 3-4 years to do that.

    Clingan’s Growth Spurt?

Clingan said in an article recently that he had grown and is now 7'2.5, which I assume is without shoes on. So with shoes he would be about 7'4", which also lines up with what his dad said. He TOWERS over guys that are listed at 6'9 or 6'10, so it definitely makes sense.

    Look who’s trending on Twitter

Yes. He played with a broken bone, but still managed to be 4th in the country in tackles and of the top 20 in the country in tackles there was only 1 player that had more sacks and it was only 5 sacks VS Mitchell's 4.5 sacks. He was without question a top 10 linebacker last year while playing...

2024 UConn Football Commit - Cole Welliver (Denton, Texas)

If UConn gets into the Big 12, then he will likely sign. If UConn doesn't, then I agree that he will look at other options. He was probably told that there is a very high chance UConn goes to the Big 12. Otherwise his commitment doesn't make sense based on where he is from or where he plays...

Anyone else get the sense that the PAC is slow playing media rights negotiations on purpose?

Fox and espn have already said (according to insiders) that they will pay full price for uconn and San Diego state to the big 12.

Report: SEC Would Consider 2 ACC Schools, But Not Miami

It depends how many teams the big 10 wants to add. I think Notre Dame, UNC and Virginia make the most sense for the big 10. Oregon and Washington are desirable as well. Obviously the big 12 would take Miami, so they won't be completely left out.

AD Dave - Get a Media Proxy Strategy

Based on the almost complete silence from UConn I'm assuming that they are in great shape with Yorkmark and the Big 12 presidents who are the only ones that matter.

Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

If the PAC stays together, then the BIG 12 likely adds UConn and one other school. The Big 12 just visited Memphis, so it appears to be in play in case the western schools like San Diego State decide to join the PAC.

Analysis: Emotional pull of Big East vs. revenue boost of Big 12. Why UConn may be lured by Power 5 invite (Mike Anthony)

If UConn gets invited to the Big 12 and performs well in football, then when the ACC teams start changing conferences UConn might be in position to get a BIG 10 invite.

2024 UConn Football Commit - Cooper Ackerman (Shrewsbury MA)

Maybe I was getting greedy, but I was hoping he was going to say something like "the opportunity to play in the Big 12 is what sealed it"

ESPN: Big12 Talks Expansion at spring conference meeting

Having by far the top basketball league helps ensure that the BIG 12 is one of the conferences that breaks from the NCAA with the BIG 10 and SEC to create their own basketball tournament and football playoff. Also, the BIG 12 wants coast to coast content in all time zones because that increases...

Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

He also recently made a very interesting point that some of us are thinking too. The BIG 12 is trying to guarantee a seat at the table once the power conferences break from the NCAA and create their own league. By being by far the best basketball conference it greatly helps them not get left...

Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

Yes it seems the main thing that would keep Uconn out would be if unexpected schools want an invite right now to the big 12 such as Oregon and Washington. However, it appears they are waiting to hear from the big 10 first, so uconn is probably a top 2 priority and should get something finalized...

    Possible Big 12 Invite rumors

I think Yormark is positioning the BIG 12 to be by far the best basketball conference because this helps ensure them as a power conference when the power conferences break from the NCAA and set up their own basketball tournament. If the majority of top basketball schools are outside of the SEC...

Tough to tell, but one of the other pictures very clearly shows Newton's locker with a bunch of things in it. Definitely a good sign.

    Big 12

UConn football was ranked in the top 25 for 3 out of the last 6 years in the Big East. Legitimately contending for national titles will be very difficult, but being in the top half of the Big 12 is very plausible. Add in top facilities, some big boosters, and there being very little...

Will UConn Get a B12 Invite??

Also, once the power conferences break away from the NCAA, then more of the money from the end of year basketball tournament would go directly to the schools. If the BIG 12 is by far the best basketball league, then maybe that means more revenue for them compared to the SEC and BIG 10 and helps...

A Dime Back Podcast: The Big 12

The mentality of many people in Connecticut is that the government has endless money, so it's not surprising that people are ignoring the economic reality of UConn's conference affiliation.

B12 and ACC on the clock!

Getting into the North East gets them a lot of money and exposure, which is what every conference has been prioritizing with expansion. They also ideally want top brands in order to secure themselves as a power conference.

2023 UConn Football Commit - Davon Hicks (Vero Beach, Florida)

It seems like the staff is trying to copy the model TCU set with their linebackers and secondary of emphasizing speed more than size and probably playing some sort of 3-3-5 scheme.

    2025 Recruiting: Cooper Flagg offered

If Duke needs to keep outbidding schools to get top recruits and stay relevant, then Scheyer won't last very long as the coach. K forced Duke to give Scheyer a shot at coaching when he has absolutely zero business being the coach. The boosters will demand a coach with a proven track record if...

    2025 Recruiting: Cooper Flagg offered

Coach K is gone. Players that should be 1-and-done are having to stay an extra year. Just because a kid thought duke was his dream school when he was 8 years old and watching coach K win championships and turn out NBA talent doesn't mean that they will think that when they are 17 and deciding...

2025 Recruiting: UConn Offers Meleek Thomas

It seems like UConn's philosophy is mostly setting players up to actually earn NIL as opposed to just depositing money in their bank accounts. Obviously a lot of players just want a huge guaranteed check or performance incentives based on their play, so they will be more likely to go to schools...

Yes. He can get feedback and then return to school. However, I think he will likely move on to the next chapter in his life and career. Good for him.

    Adama 50/50 on coming back

Agree. His main problem is needing to prove that he can reliably hit an NBA 3 point shot and be able to drive to the hoop on occasion and finish at the rim. He showed flashes of both this year, but needs to do it at a higher volume. He has decent athleticism and elite strength, so he should...

"This is what happens when you ban us" -Shabazz Napier People forgot about the APR situation after 2014. I think a big part of the problem was that the administration didn't really understand how APR worked and how to game the system like every other school was doing.
