How did you become a UConn fan?

Grew up a Yale fan in New Haven in the 50s and 60s. Rooted for them to beat UConn in basketball and football when I was a rope guard and usher at Yale Bowl and the Payne-Whitney Gymnasium. Became a UConn fan in 1964 when I made the decision to attend UConn…

    It’s. Not. Even. Close.

yes and no. Because of the Covid cancellation in 2020, it’s only 25 tournaments in 26 years, starting with Kentuckys win in 1998. But it should say tournaments rather than seasons.

How long have you been a UConn WBB fan? (poll)

As a 1970 UConn grad, I always rooted for all UConn sports teams. But I only watched the women’s games in the 70s when they played occasional doubleheaders with the men. I started attending all the home games starting with the 87-88 season. I’ve had season tickets since they started charging...

A two-minute video analysis that pretty much summarizes UCONN v. UCF

I realize I am in the minority here, but Im not convinced that the violation call was correct, IF she was called for faking the free throw. It was stated earlier in this thread, that it doesn’t matter whether she double-clutched the free-throw on purpose or not. That would be true in high...

Your First UConn Game In Person

December 1960 in the Payne-Whitney Gymnasium. Yale won 63-55. Growing up in New Haven, I was a Yale fan and an usher for the Yale home games in those days. I was crushed when Yale lost in OT to Billy Packer’s Wake Forest team in the 62 NCAAs. Dave Schumacher missed 2FTs when 1 of 2 would have...

    Oregon Postgame Thread

in the interest of accuracy, Makurat replaced Irwin with 7:01 still to play in the first quarter after the offensive foul on ONO. The score was 5-2 at that point. Irwin did not return till the last 57 seconds of the game.

    Boeheim's press conference- Must Watch!

Hey, Fish, been a long time, hope all is well. And of course both you and Boeheim are dead right. Cuse wasn’t tough, they had no PG and played like it, they didn’t rebound, and they didn’t make shots.uconn was tougher and made shots, and Cobb was great inside.. Boeheim flatly said so. E

How long have you been a UConn WBB fan? (poll)

Have been a men's fan since 1964 when I decided to attend UConn. Rooted for all uconn sports ever since, including wbb, but didn't start attending women's games regularly till the 87-88 season with the team that featured Kris Lamb and Renee Najarian.
