    Acc-Big 10 challenge matchups announced

Yeah that could be a good one. Depending on how much Ohio St. is improved and how much Louisville slips from the previous couple years, that could be competitive. I don't really know what either of the Michigan schools is bringing back this year, those could be decent games. Minnesota against...

    Acc-Big 10 challenge matchups announced

Going out on a limb @Plebe , picking quite a few road teams. Most of those matchups just don't look very compelling to me. Agreed w/ above, Maryland @ NC State looks like the best game.

    ridiculously addictive you tube clips

There's probably an over the counter medication he can take for that. Okay, here's something without Sophie Turner, but still cute animals. I've already posted stuff from the React Channel I think but this is a new thing they have, the try not to touch it challenge. They mostly fail. Hard to...

    ridiculously addictive you tube clips

Going with the Sophie Turner theme. This is a long running series. Some of the celebs act annoyed by the stupidity of the questions, but many of them roll with it and have some fun.

    ridiculously addictive you tube clips

Not new but I haven't run across it until now. Buzzfeed does a series w/ celebrities answering fan questions while playing with puppies or kittens. Super cute. Puppy sticks its nose inside Sophie Turner's blouse, she quips "you remind me of my husband."

WNBA June 2019 Musings, scores, pictures, etc

Just imagine how much fun that would be delaying the game for 5 minutes while the refs watch endless replays to determine if it actually is a dunk or not.

Wow, that was fairly much a parting of the Red Sea by the defense there. Decent dunk, but for her height and length...meh. I can't wait to see Belibi dunk in a college game.

    Bay Area to Vancouver recs?

I've spent a bit of time there. I haven't attended it but they have a Lavender Festival that's kind of a big to do (coming up next weekend). Dungeness Spit a bit outside of town is fairly interesting. A 5+ mile (and growing) narrow strip of sand jutting out into the Straight of Juan de Fuca...

    Collier in Minnesota

Yeah it's still really early in the season, plenty of time for them to gel.

    Collier in Minnesota

I was just thinking the Aces can't seem to string 2 wins in a row together. They've been focused on feeding the ball to Wilson and Cambage but looks like Plum and McBride carried them to victory today.

    Collier in Minnesota

Aces on a 12-0 run down the stretch, looking to steal this one. Up 6 w/ about 25 seconds left.

    Any word on Colson?

She's listed in the box score for the game against the Lynx today. Only 5 minutes played midway thru the 4th quarter, but at least she's back on the court.

    Collier in Minnesota

Sorry to hijack momentarily but looks like Plum is having her second straight strong showing. She's found the range behind the arc recently.

    Collier in Minnesota

But Collier is too short to thrive in the WNBA...

OT: Article on poaching of mid-major players in MCBB

My response wasn't meant to direct any snark towards you. I've long suspected this type of activity was going on. You are correct in pointing out, I don't recall seeing an article previously that spelled it out in black and white.

Right now, Geno is a guest analyst in the Seattle-Sun game on ABC

Sue and Geno are pretty funny together. They had her miked up, played a brief clip from the beginning of the game basically being an assistant coach, just some random comment she made. Geno was cracking on her, "top level coaching right there." Fun stuff.

It's a UConn love fest today. Now Sue is sitting at the table along w/ Geno and Rebecca.

WNBA June 2019 Musings, scores, pictures, etc

Continues to be a game of streaks. Sun was up 11 at half, Storm started Q3 on 12-0 run to briefly grab the lead. They turned up the defensive pressure and forced a bunch of turnovers.

There's been an Anigwe sighting. Scored on a fast break and then grabbed a D board on the other end.

OT: Article on poaching of mid-major players in MCBB

There's tampering going on with college athletes? I'm shocked, just shocked I tell ya. I never would've suspected it.

Howard is a genuine stud but she's been almost the entirety of the offense for the Storm so far.

Jordin Canada is day to day with a bone bruise. Blake Dietrick getting her first career start for the Storm today. Started off w/ a nice back and forth battle but Sun starting to run away with it as Q1 is drawing to a close.

Right now, Geno is a guest analyst in the Seattle-Sun game on ABC

He was glowing in his praise of Courtney Williams. Said she was the toughest player to guard he ever faced at UConn.

    Black Mirror

San Junipero was something really different. It was probably better than I'm giving it credit for but I was just disappointed at that point. Shut Up and Dance I found frustrating and irritating. I'd watched Playtest earlier, that was decent. Maybe I'll just skip episode 5 and 6 and move on...

    Non-UConn Recruiting Information

Jeez, you're taking this way too seriously. KLS and Collier had fantastic careers. Plenty of players that have fantastic careers don't win any Championships, and they obviously won one. But UConn was gonna win that year w/ Stewie and Jefferson as Sr. and Tuck as a RS Jr. regardless of who...

    Black Mirror

I am not digging Season 3. Thru 4 of the 6 episodes. Haven't really enjoyed any of them. Gave up on "Nosedive" about halfway thru it (the episode w/ Bryce Dallas Howard and Alice Eve). Just couldn't stick with it. Fast forwarded a bit thru a couple of the other eps as well. On the...

Need new Netflix tv Shows to watch

Love Death + Robots. Anthology of animated short features (mostly 10-15 minutes, some even shorter). Hit and miss, all over the board, but some are definitely worth the watch. 18 episodes. Surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet (unless I missed it). Maybe a bit of Black Mirror mixed w/...

    Non-UConn Recruiting Information

You have a point. History is probably full of subtleties like that where something easily could've have turned out a different way, but didn't. 107-5 in the last 3 years is ridiculous, but 0 Titles in that span after 4 straight and 6 of 8 certainly is "different." Other programs feel like...

    Liberty at Aces

Looks like the Aces didn't play the starters much in the 2nd half. But the Lib couldn't even put the slightest dent in the deficit.
  31. nwhoopfan

    Liberty at Aces

Well on the plus side the Liberty have really balanced scoring. It's just that none of them have scored very much. 8 players w/ either 6 or 4 points. Leading scorer at 8. Thru 3 quarters. Ouch.

WNBA June 2019 Musings, scores, pictures, etc

Sparks are running away with it. Up 20 late in Q4. Getting fairly balanced scoring. Merc are basically Bonner and Griner, getting almost no scoring from anybody else.

    Liberty at Aces

Young is 2 points away from having all 5 starters in double figure scoring already.
  34. nwhoopfan

    Liberty at Aces

Jeez you weren't kidding. 66-31 at halftime. Plum w/ 19 points on 8-10 shooting, 6 rebounds 2 assists 2 steals. I don't know why she starts slowly every season. To me she has shown that she can be an effective player in the WNBA.

WNBA June 2019 Musings, scores, pictures, etc

Sparks-Mercury got off to a horrid start. Picking up a little at the end of Q1. Chelsea Gray is on fire. With so many games on CBSSN this season, I'm trying to watch some WNBA. There were almost no games available on a channel I have last year. But to be honest I'm having a really hard time...
