    C. Collier to the W

I bet Vic gets a couple of big transfers this off season. Very interested to see how things shake out at with his former players at MSU.

    C. Collier to the W

Worth noting, Walker didn't have a degree in hand where as Collier will have hers. Sabally is the one other player I can think of who I've read left early with degree in hand or was set to earn her degree by of the summer.

How Top 16 Has Fared / Bracketology

Louisville looks far more flawed than Baylor IMO. They have no quality wins and lost to Florida State, plus close calls to Wake, Miami and Virginia Tech. Eye test doesn't look like a strong team either. Baylor has wins over West Virginia and South Florida and another big game tomorrow vs...

    Bracketology March 5th

This is where it is incredibly flawed for the women's side. If committee sticks to this long term, it will incentivize teams to schedule crap road games and avoid top competition since a win vs. a top 5 team is formulaically viewed the same as a road win vs. a non tournament team. Casting up...

    #4 Georgia vs #2 South Carolina - 3/07/21

I'm sure Dawn and Co feel the exact same. If I'm UCONN I'd much rather face NC State than SC. SC is streakier IMO due to guard play but when they prioritize Boston and make shots they can beat anyone. Title truly feels up for grabs this year among the top 7-8 teams in a way it hasn't felt in...

    #4 Georgia vs #2 South Carolina - 3/07/21

Yeah that's where they're projected. Whoever is #1 is likely negligible.

    Bracketology March 5th

I guess that makes sense if they're focusing on quad wins, but I just find it flawed how spread out the quadrants are, especially for road wins during a season held without fans. There's no way someone can convince me that beating Villanova on the road should be equated to beating Arkansas...

    #3 UCLA vs #1 Stanford - 3/07/21

Stanford is inconsistent...they have games like this where they look like the #1 team in the country and others where they look rather pedestrian offensively. If Williams is on they're hard to beat. And Brink's emergence as an interior defender gives them an edge against a lot of opposing...

At least we get some offense finally

    Bracketology March 5th

No tool is perfect (Massey/RPI) but I dont see any reason why DePaul deserves to be in the tournament over some other bubble teams.

    Bracketology March 5th

How in the world is DePaul in according to Charlie and Ole Miss is out? Net rating: Ole Miss 42, DePaul 71 Best wins: Ole Miss: Arkansas (#19) and 2x Kentucky (#20) DePaul: Kentucky (#20), Marquette (#31) Worst Losses: Ole Miss: Florida (#63), LSU 2x (#62) DePaul: Butler (#275), Villanova...

#12 or not - is this Geno/CD best coaching?

Idk about 99/100 considering the team randomly almost lost to Tulane too but I agree they were cut and dry the best team in WBB that season and had a fluky loss. The big 3 (Williams/KLS/Collier) all played in fantastic unison that season.

    #4 Georgia vs #2 South Carolina - 3/07/21

Just not enough offense for Georgia. SC's guards are lethal in transition and they finally spaced the floor well for Boston. Good commentary by Peck in that regard. I thought there was an awful no call that Boston got away with around 6:30 left in the 4th. They called a relatively...

    C. Collier to the W

Good choice for her if she wants to stay home. Should be the easy pick for #1 overall which wasn't necessarily the case had she stayed her senior year. No qualms at all with her declaring early either....probably is best to get it out of the way so it isn't weighing on her shoulders. She has...

Ayana Patterson 2022 #3 Ranked Player UConn in Final 5

I won't predict where she'll go but ND on paper makes the most sense to me with a strong class ahead of her plus two years with Westbeld. Would be a massive get for Niele and they'd be dangerous as upperclassmen if everyone sticks. Indiana also could be a good fit staying close to home and she...

    Debbie Antonelli

I feel like Debbie is the annoyance to UCONN fans that Doris Burke was to all non-UCONN fans. Both are clearly bright and understand the game well but are awful to listen to depending on if you're rooting for or against UCONN.

Paige Bueckers only freshman on Wooden Award top 15

Clark should be on every top 5 list IMO with her recent stretch. 27.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 49% FG, 42% 3pt, and 86% FT against a solid SOS is truly insane. As a freshman no less. Compare that to Dana Evans: Evans: 20.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 43.7% FG, 36% 3pt...

    #4 Georgia vs #2 South Carolina - 3/07/21

I think SC wins this. Huge win today and they seem to be righting the ship to end the season. Georgia has been playing quite well so far this tournament though. I'll be rooting for Mitchell's squad.

    #5 Villanova vs #4 DePaul - 3/06/21

I'm not sure they're a lock for a tournament bid. They're 67 for NET rankings and have one of the worst losses of any team this season to Butler. I know the committee doesn't take this into account, but I'd much rather see a hotter bubble team like Ole Miss make the NCAAs compared to teams...

Mikayla Coombs/Texas A&M loses (merged thread)

Butler tore it up too, albeit at a pretty low level of competition but worth mentioning.

    #3 Tennessee vs #2 South Carolina - 3/06/21

I think SC regroups and wins today
  22. bballnut90

#12 or not - is this Geno/CD best coaching?

I think 2016-17 was hands down the best coaching job I've seen in his 25+ seasons. They lost their Big 3, had no true post and came a buzzer beater from going undefeated.

    #11 Mississippi vs #6 Arkansas - 3/04/21

Mississippi is a dangerous squad, I hope they make the tournament. 3 wins vs. Kentucky and Arkansas should help their cause. A win vs. Tennessee today should make them a lock IMO. They deserve it over Mississippi State who have lost 7 of their last 9.

What happens if NCAA tournament teams catch covid?

What happens if NCAA tournament teams catch covid?

Has it been said anywhere what happens if a player (or players) catch covid between now and Final Four weekend? I'm just wondering what happens if someone catches covid and then as a result several other teams have to quarantine for potential exposure. Will the entire tournament get pushed...

"The Ludicrous, Unprecedented Greatness of Paige Bueckers"

You're the one who first made several condescending statements by saying: "Now things are getting silly." "Maybe you misremembered?" "You need to read my comment better" I just responded in the same tone. Have a good one.

"The Ludicrous, Unprecedented Greatness of Paige Bueckers"

I apologize if it's a difficult concept. There's a stark difference between saying who you think actually will win the title vs. who you believe has a shot at winning. There are usually very few title favorites but several title threats (most #1 seeds, sometimes some #2 seeds as well). Almost...

"The Ludicrous, Unprecedented Greatness of Paige Bueckers"

I was responding to your statement of playing superior opponents. The only very strong team UCONN faced in the tournament that year was vs. Notre Dame. Stewart had a phenomenal performance but aside from that game, UCONN had a relatively breezy path to the title, playing in front of...

"The Ludicrous, Unprecedented Greatness of Paige Bueckers"

Title favorite is different than title threat. In 2015/2016 everyone expected UCONN would win. Both years SC got soundly beat by UCONN during the regular season and no one realistically thought they were going to win it all. Junior year I think people thought they had an outside shot but...

"The Ludicrous, Unprecedented Greatness of Paige Bueckers"

I'd suggest rewatching some of the 2012-13 games if you think Stewart carried the team in a similar manner to the way Paige. Stewart barely played at all vs Baylor and had a very up and down season.

Should UConn's Paige Bueckers win national player of the year?

Every week my 1st Team AA list changes....I'd probably have the same team too after Clark's performances the last couple of weeks. Owusu is one who I think is right on the cusp too. I'd maybe put her on 1st team over Smith/Clark/Hillmon depending on tomorrow and the conference tournament...

"The Ludicrous, Unprecedented Greatness of Paige Bueckers"

Holdsclaw is my all time favorite player...such a fun player to watch. Griner skill wise and dominance wise was good enough to be in that grouping but doesn't have the titles to match them since Baylor came up short in 2011 and 2013. 2x POY, runner up another year, and Baylor was a heavy title...
  33. bballnut90

"The Ludicrous, Unprecedented Greatness of Paige Bueckers"

Changed in the landscape in that Baylor became the feared top dog during her tenure there and she was the pre-eminent player in women's college basketball. She swept all POY awards her last two years and was runner up to Moore for most POY awards as a sophomore. Her lack of multiple titles...

"The Ludicrous, Unprecedented Greatness of Paige Bueckers"

Lol A'ja Wilson wasn't some insanely dominant recruit like a Griner/Stewart/Parker who changed the landscape of the sport. UCONN was darn near unbeatable her first two years with Stewart, A'ja won as a junior and had a very weak supporting cast as a senior. Dawn did a good job those 4 years...

Should UConn's Paige Bueckers win national player of the year?

If Paige stays all 4 years then likely yes. Clark i think stands a great shot too, especially with her improved play as the season has continued.
