Head Coaching carrousel mania for 2020 begins

That is life changing money for a coordinator gig. That's P5 money coming into effect. When we hired Diaco, we paid almost as much Clemson was paying Dabo at the time. Times have certainly changed when a coordinator is getting paid that.

    New York Times: Courageous Huskies

This is pointed out in the article. Logistics of having games to play had as much to do with the shutdown as courage.

    Boise St to the AAC?

If the conference you're in pays a pittance in TV rights, what's the point? You can no longer argue scheduling games as the answer to that question.

Most P-5’s want to leave the NCAA.

Whatever happens, the NCAA schools left behind have to hang on to the MARCH MADNESS name. Don't sell it to the P5 schools.

During negotiations state needs to try and get OT pay out of the calculations. State Police will be the loudest against this. Very few 100k employees are going to be drawing 80k pensions, and almost none after 20 years. After 20 years you are guaranteed 50% of the average of your highest 3...

A huge problem with the pension was the state not paying its portion. The employees have paid their share. Jody Rell bragged about amassing a rainy day fund while not making the contributions to the PF. The state has also borrowed from it and not paid the money back. Malloy at least tried to...

    Cliff Dunk Comp

He was a center for us. Emeka was better, but he still was one of our best ever. His longevity in the NBA was amazing. Maybe the first modern true stretch 4. Only a select few alums had better NBA careers. Ray, Rip, and maybe Caron.

Sad news - Cliff Robinson has passed away

. Many of us remain fans to this day because of Cliff and that team that won the NIT. The first true stretch 4, and a guy that saw change coming in Marijuana laws and made it a legit business venture. Represented UConn well forever. RIP.

    Big Ten, parents, players, revolt.

Safe to say that if the Big Ten parents feel this group(s) don't speak for everyone, then neither do they. If you are potential high draft pick i can see risking signing a waiver to play. If you're a 3rd string linebacker or OG, why? At the very least if these kids play there should be no...

2020 UConn Commit Jonathan Senecal to Univ. of Montreal

Oh brother. In this issue, I'd rather be one side of the Big 10 than the SEC. Also Indiana is reported had freshman OL with serious issues post Covid already. The sun will continue to rise without 1 season of CFB.

The Machinery Is in Motion to Postpone the 2020 College Football Season...

You forget we had our basketball seasons and ncaa tournaments cut short/eliminated. FB centric fanbases seem to forget that and take it as a personal affront when it is suggested not wise to carry out a season. You have all FCS, Division 2, 3, 2 P5, and G5, conferences say already it isn't wise...

    UConn makes a strong statement

Well no one here said exploited either. My only point is that it doesn't matter that millions of HS kids want college scholarships like it doesn't matter that thousands of college players want to play in the NFL. The number of HS kids that want college scholarships shouldn't factor into...

    UConn makes a strong statement

Dude you really think Texas and Alabama are walking away from this money because UConn and North Texas Football players? This will likely just lead to break away of the top revenue producing athletic programs before they "close shop".

    UConn makes a strong statement

I don't get this argument. Every CFB player wants to play in the NFL. Only a fraction are good enough. NFL players are always negotiating for a bigger slice of the revenue pie.

    UConn makes a strong statement

This isn't fair. The Power 5 demanded "Autonomy". They should be the last folks expecting the NCAA to make the decision for them. They're beholden to the TV money. The nonsense of G5 schools not being able to test adequately enough and the being the reason for conference only games is laughable.

Mid-American Conference Cancels Fall College Football Season

They may not have to. You can get the band together for like minded Olympic only sports, amd those schools playing FBS schools could have their own FB conference. Or something along those lines.

Mid-American Conference Cancels Fall College Football Season

We've heard this for a long time. But in that type of arrangement, are Texas or Michigan Fans going to be happy with perpetual 6-6, records? Michigan can go 9-4 beating 2 MAC schools, Rutgers, Purdue, NW, Indiana, a 2nd tier bowl etc. I think that sounds good but that type of deal brings...

    UConn makes a strong statement

The P5 doesn't listen to the NCAA. Bill Self is threatning legal action against them if they sanction his program for cheating.
