    Greatest College BB Programs Ever

If they really are factoring in regular season championships, a lot of the BE wasn't really in a league for a very long time. Syracuse, for instance, doesn't have a regular season title until 1980.

    OT: NBA Playoffs

LeBron might win it without him, but it would be an interesting mirror of the Draymond Green incident that cost him Game 6 and opened up the door for the Cavs.

    OT: NBA Playoffs

Also, James Harden doesn't play defense. LeBron is great. If I'm picking a player to go to war with and I can get them from 21-35 I'm picking Jordan. That's not a knock on LeBron.

    OT: NBA Playoffs

??? I mean, I think the Clips did the right thing, and I wouldn't be surprised if they win the title next year--or the year after. When healthy and not inexplicably terrible, George is certainly one of the best 10 2-way players in the league. As for critiquing Kawhi? I would have stayed with...

    OT: NBA Playoffs

Are you accusing me of revising the narrative? I'm pointing out (a) the truth, and (b) how it shows how great LeBron is (historically one of the best 3-5 players ever at worst). Give him Kawhi's squad and he probably sweeps to the Finals.

    OT: NBA Playoffs

AD is much better than Paul George and fits more naturally as a partner. Other than that, the Lakers are pretty much trash. At least the Clips have/had talent aside from their stars. And yet...

    90 Minute Thread: White Wine?

I love love love beer, but beer doesn't evoke a memory--the place, the moment, the people--in the same way that wine does. It's really a much more potent madeleine than a madeleine. But, yes, the food pairings are another plus.

    90 Minute Thread: White Wine?

My friend's in-laws had bought a place there in the 1970s when it was relatively cheap and we stayed with them in the village back in 2014. Just freaking love Sancerre wine, but like so much about wine the experience is so important...and sitting in my friends' in-law's back yard overlooking the...

    New Clingan Video

I think the critiques of Clingan's tape are fair, as are the critiques that he is playing against subpar competition. @Fishy the kid could could up his level of competition and play against kids closer to his size and certainly more talented than him if he wanted to, and the fact that he doesn't...

Practice today was open to the media. Tons of good quotes.

I certainly wouldn't have agreed with this statement after Hurley's first year. Kid had no concept of team defense and frequently broke offensive plays. But those things are hard to actually master, and those mistakes are typical of freshmen. I'll always respect this kid: he stuck with it...

    OT: NBA Playoffs

Sixers should be permanently cursed for "The Process" which was an abomination. Celtics did rebuilding right. Which is sad, because I like Simmons and Embiid.

    OT: NBA Playoffs

Not saying they'll win more than 1 or 2, but (provided McCollum is able to perform like tonight), is this the best 8th seed ever? Also, I know it may be verboten, but I actually like watching Carmelo on this team. He's playing within the team concept and he looks like he's having fun for the...

    OT: NBA Playoffs

Sucks that McCollum is hurt. Would love to see a fully healthy Portland (for the first time in a while) play the Lakers. Still, Lillard averaging 37.6 in the bubble is damn impressive and they're definitely my non-Celtics team right now.

UConn rivals old and new: Big East feels more complete to Jay Wright, builder of Villanova’s championships

He just became eligible. There aren't many coaches who have one national championship that aren't in the Hall of Fame. He has two, an additional Final Four, and lots of other success. He's an easy inductee given the current standards.

Tyrese Martin has my total respect.

I'm just going off of what RSCI said on the College Basketball Reference Page. There are surely some specific services that had him higher.

UConn rivals old and new: Big East feels more complete to Jay Wright, builder of Villanova’s championships

They had a lull for sure, but they were still always one of the better teams in the Big East. If Lappas could have capitalized on the success of his Kerry Kittles teams, we might have grown to hate them. I mean, they crushed us in the 1995 BET finals. But they faded until the mid-2000s. Then...

Don't be daft. We don't need time. I mean, if you're asking for teams that are balanced top to bottom, there are a ton of them that are more balanced than this team, no matter how much we're excited for it. 1990 1994 1995 1996 1999 2002 2004 2009 All, on the face of it, had better balance...

UConn rivals old and new: Big East feels more complete to Jay Wright, builder of Villanova’s championships

Seriously. Before UConn won anything, Villanova had a title, a title game loss, a Final Four, 7 other Elite Eights, and some deep runs in the NIT when that meant something.

    PAC 12

anecdotally, two of my friends who were among the earliest confirmed Covid cases in CT now have to carry an inhaler and their arms & legs periodically go numb. Which is pretty bad, considering their job often involves them carrying heavy things...and now they've dropped their expensive equipment...

    This thread is hilarious

In terms of individual rankings, DHam, Jalen Adams, and Alterique were all higher ranked than anyone we got so far (though Bouk was severely under-ranked because of injuries). Everyone else, though, (except in the Al year) was a second or third choice because we aimed very high and whiffed again...

    90 Minute Thread: White Wine?

I really liked the wines I had there and from Istria. Oranges don't pair particularly well with meals, but instead with snacks. I've had a lot (since Wine Bodega in Boston specializes in "natural wine"), and they vary in taste, which I love. There were a few wine bars in Boston (one near...

    90 Minute Thread: White Wine?

People who like sours or other funky beers should be on the look out for orange wines. They're fantastic and totally different than anything you normally expect from a wine. My wife and I tried them a few years ago in Slovenia (beautiful country) and since they've started to make their way into...
