New Freshman walk-on: Autumn Chassion [merged thread]

There was a famous Cajun eatery and live music joint in Breaux Bridge called Mulate's. It closed a few years ago, but it had the best Cajun food I've ever eaten. And the wooden floor dancing made it special. Great memories.

Sue Bird Ruminates On WNBA Future

We used to drink Straub's when we went "fishing" for trout in the middle of nowhere, Pa. I think Straub's is still brewed in St Mary's,Pa, which is on the outskirts of nowhere. Yeungling is another popular beer that was just local for over a hundred years. It is still brewed in Pottsville, Pa...

Sue Bird Ruminates On WNBA Future

Hey @Steelerone I left Pittsburgh, Pa. in 1985. Before leaving I drank way too much Iron City Beer. For years it was brewed in the Lawrenceville area of town on Liberty Ave. I read that they moved brewing operations to Latrobe, Pa in 2009. So Iron City is now brewed in the "glass-lined tanks...

Sue Bird Ruminates On WNBA Future

Like so many, I love to read it but cannot write it. I was exposed to it early in life. My Dad read poetry and detective novels with equal zeal. The house was full of books and the local library was a short walk. My Dad, one of twelve children, never finished high school but knew more about more...

My sense is that the gesture she is making is not the Texas hook'em sign. Not sure what it is, but hook 'em gesture places the middle and ring finger against the palm with the thumb over those two fingers. I know the Italian kids in our old neighborhood used the "horn" hand sign to mean...

    OT: New war movie

Lt. General Hal Moore died here in Alabama in 2017. I too had the pleasure of meeting him briefly at a small gathering years ago. He spoke of his service generally, of his devotion to honor and duty, and how we all must "serve" our country and honor our fallen countrymen. He was impressive and...

It is ironic that with all the steel mills in the Pittsburgh area, the majority of the mill scenes in "The Deer Hunter" were filmed in Mingo Junction, Oh. What was originally a Carnegie Corp. facility became part of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel . The mill was bought by Severstal and closed in about...

OT: Sabrina Ionescu drops 33 in debut

That is probably my fault. In my post I wrote that she went 4-5 and 2-3. So if @and one just added the two sets of figures the result would be 6-8. I should have made it clear that she 4-5 from the floor overall and 2-3 from 3 point range. BTW she added a pair of freebies to finish with 12...
