Most players just need an opportunity to play. At UConn, Q was not going to get the opportunity, because of the depth of talent. I think people don't realize the amount of pressure it is when you play at elite schools. Not nearly the same amount of pressure and she fills a need at NC State...

UCLA also plays Southern (#225), Cal Poly (#221) and Long Beach St (#272). Everyone puts "easy" games on their schedule to test things out and to give everyone playing time.

I thought the team looked slow. BC had a lot of wide open 3's and they made them. The newbies have to learn how to score at the rim. A lot of bunnies missed. Overall, I thought the team looked good for 3 weeks before the season.

Why do polls still exist when everything is settled on the field or the court?

It has been my experience that leaders are born and not made and "making" someone a leader can be detrimental. I am guessing that Azzi will lead more by example than by voice. That should be enough for this team.
