That was before BBCOR was put into play and has decreased power numbers across college baseball. Unless the bats change again we will never see those type of power again and even then the college game has already evolved to teams like Arizona last season and South Carolina the past few seasons...
Im pretty sure Nepiarsky throws harder than the "mid 80's" and if you look at our recruiting you will notice that our aggressive baserunning doesn't look to be ending any time soon. I know some of you will hate to hear that lol
Chris Shaw (the kid who hit the 2 homers today) in my opinion was a top 50 player in HS and will more than likely be drafted very high in a few years (26th rd out of HS). I saw him play in Atlanta on the same AAU team as Siena and a few other players who were perfectgame all americans and he...
I believe, but don't hold it against me if I'm wrong, that it would still be considered a home game. I would say for situations like this to look at the official UConn website for the schedule and use that to base the rpi off of. The best example I can relate it to was a few seasons ago when an...
Just an FYI once the RPIs settle themselves out Presbyterian will not be anywhere near the top 50 as they just dont play in a conference to maintain that lofty ranking and up to this point they have no wins that can be considered anywhere near quality. Just in that regard we need to be careful...
Thank you. Yeah thats what I figured with the RPIs. They are very fluid right now and I will definitely get around to looking at that site in my free time. I just thought it was funny when I saw Savannah St highly ranked as I have like a 2nd or 3rd cousin on the team and know they don't really...
ucjoet, where are you finding the RPI's at? I love following that type of stuff but the only website I found that has 2013 rankings has Presbyterian and Savannah St in the top 8 and UNC and GT below UConn in the 120's and I know that there is no way any of those are possible.
At least the organization is taking the right approach with him. No need to rush him up to the majors if he's not ready and hurt his growth, especially when they probably wont be competitive this season. Unless he completely blows up this spring I would imagine him getting a few ABs at the very...
Does anyone have any idea/heard anything on if Springer could make the big league team out of the gate or get a late season call up? To put it nicely, the Astros are not very good and there should be plenty of opportunity
Yeah I'm excited that Ward is off to a good start because after his Fr year and that big win in the regional (I think it was him against Clemson) I thought we would be worrying about if he was going to leave school early. Hopefully this creates some good momentum and he can keep it rolling
Here's where im thinking the issue is. For instance we just played Purdue twice and Indiana once which is a decent start to SOS and both teams should be top 80 rpi this season but from there where do we go? The following teams in the next few weeks are worse than that and don't help us very...
I wouldnt be worried about early season losses with us because we seem to do this every season. What does worry me is something like 40-20 would probably put us on the wrong side of the bubble bc I really don't like the opponents we are playing non-conf in terms of strength of schedule and...
