“If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail.” - Abraham Maslow, which refers to a concept commonly known as the 'law of instrument' or Maslow's Hammer.
Upon a bit of after the fact research it appears my question about the effects of player availability information on betting odds is somewhat a mute point in that it appears most sports books don't include women's collegiate basketball. Go figure.
Does online sports betting now become a matter of concern on what information and more importantly when information is provided about player status and availability?
Thanks so much. You can tell from my messages and likes I'm not very active. I read a lot of postings but respond or post myself very infrequently. My numbers compared to yours are like night and day.
A little further help would be much appreciated. Is there a good place to get help that would...
Like to mention my favorite. Anita O'Day at the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival. I first became aware of it during a PBS special about her life. Quite the journey. Would appreciate it if someone with better skills than I would post a link for this performance. I'm not there yet. Thanks
Indulge me one more reference to The Wagon Master movie. For as many times as I have watched this movie I never picked up on the fact that Jim Thorpe was in it. Now, with that said, if you blink you'll miss him. He portrays a Navajo brave in the sequence where the Navajo girl has been attacked...
Your so right about the commentary. Off topic a bit but by far my favorite is Eddie Muller and his Noir Alley series. He is so informative and gives such detail to his back stories about each film. I try never to miss him. Actually, many times I watch his intro and wrap up at the end and don't...
Dbmill - Wanted to tank you once again. Recorded Wagon Master today and while I don't believe there is any additional content, when compared to the GRIT TV airing I recorded earlier, there is definitely an improvement in the picture quality. TCM does such a great job airing older movies. As you...
Thanks for the heads up about Wagon Master being on TCM this Friday. Will definitely set the DVR to record it. The version I have now was from GRIT TV and as such contains commericals. Most people that know anything about the Sons of the Pioneers, know Roy Rogers was lead singer for many years...
Unless I missed it I didn't see Death Valley Days with the Old Ranger. I like to think the episodes were as close to what really happen back then as Hollywood would allow. Let's face it 99% of the movies and series mentioned were in no way based strictly on historical facts. As the old saying...
Still my favorite player to watch. Works so hard at both ends of the court. So, so glad to see the improvement in her offensive game. Will be interesting to see if her uptick in scoring will get her an all-star spot this year. I'm voting for her everyday but don't see as a big enough fan...
My grandmother was the one that always uttered those immortal words... find a penny pick it up and all day long have good luck. But there was a strict procedure that need to be followed. If the penny was heads up it was OK to pick it up, if however the tails side was facing up you had to turn it...
Thanks almost doesn't seem enough. How do you really measure how much the both of them have contributed to this program and to us the fans. They will be truly missed and remembered for a long time to come. This however is not an obituary. I, for one, plan to follow them as their careers move...
