UConn is marked on 10 other teams calenders as marquee possible wins and likely two of only a few shots they'd have to boost their resume and chances of getting in. Hurley has some tough games ahead, everyone will be up for playing UConn (as if it even needs to be stated).
What if he added a nice incentive like "if we get into a p4 while you're here, 5 million bonus"
Because that'd very likely mean UConn and their fball hire are kicking butt in that case, money well spent.
They occasionally have some teams that make some noise, there was a double digit western Michigan team that finished in the top 25 one year, I think with a p4 win and that conferences top teams occasionally knock off p4 teams.
It will be used to strengthen or come up with more reasons to keep UConn out of the P4 😞

I mean, he wasn't THAT bad at Mississippi at least as far as record. 8-4 in the first year, granted 6-7 in the second year though there were a bunch of players suspended for academic issues and his QB was injured in a fight during practice. So those two things are cause for concern.
Haven't teams been T'ed up for their fans in the most egregious cases?

Most sane people didn't want him fired and knew it would take him a few years. There was a huge improvement from Year 1 to 2 and it was very evident, granted year 1 was rough. But 2 was a fantastic leap.

Especially considering how close all 3 were.
