Interesting Commentary by ND’s Swarbick on Independence/Conference affiliation

I think the end game for the Big Ten is not anyone that has been on the radar the past decade. I see the end game for the B1G being the 4 California schools - UCLA, USC, Stanford and Cal. They are all four AAU schools and would add greatly to the demographics of the conference. The California...

Big East back to nation’s best conference? Just might be

The Big Ten won the Gavitt Tip-off Games over the Big East this year and have more teams in the top 25 than any other conference. I think they are the top conference. The Big East might be second best though.

12 Reasons Why UConn Will Regret the New Big East

Indiana made the CWS in 2013. I know that was just before the formation of the AAC, but it is another cold weather team that made it. There have been other cold weather teams make it this century, but none in the P5.

College football’s troubles will be punctuated with more empty seats in Pac-12 title game (Oregon Live)

The B1G Championship Game in Indy was a sellout. Can’t sell any more tickets than the capacity of the stadium.

12 Reasons why The Big East is UConn's home

The Big Ten got access to Madison Square Garden in other ways........ Every January, there is a "Super Saturday" in which one Big Ten basketball game and one Big Ten ice hockey game will be played in a day/night double header at Madison Square Garden. Thanks to the Gavitt Tipoff Games each...

12 Reasons why The Big East is UConn's home

The Big Ten will only hold it's conference basketball championship in NYC about once every 8 years. In the grand scheme of things, I don't think the location of that tournament one time every eight years will matter too much. It's already on record that the Big Ten wants the tournament to be...

The Big East is a much better home for UConn.

12 Reasons Why UConn Will Regret the New Big East

UConn will now be apart of the Gavitt Tipoff Games going forward. Only 8 games are played each year as part of this series between the Big East and Big Ten. I'm assuming the Huskies will get a game in the series next year since it will be our first in the "new" Big East. Here is the series...

12 Reasons Why UConn Will Regret the New Big East

The Buckeyes aren’t a middle of the pack team. They had the top recruiting class in the B1G according to the 247Sports Composite and are projected to finish third in the B1G behind Michigan State and Maryland, while making the Sweet 16 according to Athlon Sports projections. At this point in...

Iowa State isn’t even the flagship school in its rural state. Iowa has owned the series with Iowa State and Kinnick Stadium seats over 70,000 and average attendance is about that. Iowa State is second in wins and attendance for P5 teams in the State of Iowa.

Christopher Lambert@theDudeofWV 1h Here’s where the Big 12 has the advantage. They are not partnered with ESPN or Fox on a network. Their programs have rabid fan bases who actually watch football. When I think of rabid football fan bases, I know the first schools that come to mind for me are...

If the PAC wants eastern exposure so bad, the top brands should reach out to the Big Ten regarding expansion. Add the California schools to the Big Ten.

Nebraska celebrates eighth anniversary in Big Ten Conference

Huskers fans travel well. I seem to remember a certain year when Husker fans overtook South Bend for a game against the Irish. It was as if the game was being played in Lincoln.

Nebraska celebrates eighth anniversary in Big Ten Conference

Nebraska was in the old Big 8 for its most successful years. This included the rural states of Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Missouri. Not Texas. Nebraska was in the same conference as Texas for only 15 years. The first few years in the Big 12 were the last years of success for...
