    Get Your Rutgers Tickets

"And while the history was short, UConn has a winning record vs. Rutgers." RU vs UCONN since 1979: RU-7 wins, UConn 6 wins (Apparently both became major college football at the same time in 1979) All-time record: RU 22 wins, UConn 11 wins If we played you now who do you think would win? Quit...

    Get Your Rutgers Tickets

As a RU fan I'll respond here. Read Uconn threads on the RU board and you'll find the vast majority never want to play UConn again. I'm one of those by the way. I'm not sure why I feel this way but it partly has to do with the short history we had with you as opposed to SU, Pitt, WVU etc...

Realignment revisited - The beginning of the end for Big East football (ESPN - Adelson)

Agree that if true those schools will go independent because most conferences, ACC, B1G, SEC, P12 all share revenue. I could see Penn St leave the fold of its own volition but I doubt Ohio St, Michigan and the rest of the Big Ten would split. Once you're in the conference, you own a share of...

Realignment revisited - The beginning of the end for Big East football (ESPN - Adelson)

In the mean time the Big Ten is paying its members $54 million per year! Thank you Rutgers, thank you Maryland. The new B1G contract in 2024/2025 is forecast to be even better. So I don't get how streaming is hurting conference payouts.

BTN strikes deal w/Time Warner & Cablevision

Ldandy, I don't know how long you've been a football fan but RU has been in the Big Ten expansion conversation for reasons other than TV since Penn State joined the conference. The geography was the clincher when the Big Ten figured out they could essentially control the NY media market with...

FBS Scheduleshas UConn/Rutgers home and home 2016/2017

MD has recent history with RU (5-4 all time RU) and us both joining the league together will likely result in an instant rivalry. I agree PSU fans think we're beneath them but a couple of wins will change that pretty quick. The years it's going to take to generate rivalries don't really matter...

BIG fan here: let's keep hope alive

#1 is not really much of a factor though there's a long standing familiarity between the conference and RU. I don't think you can dismiss the rest of it out of hand; it's long been known by the Big Ten that RU wanted in ahead of the ACC, fit the profile and what does Andrew Zimbalist an...

BIG fan here: let's keep hope alive

There are a couple of additional factors that I believe helped RU and which UCONN doesn't have in its favor. 1.) RU has had a long relationship with several Big Ten teams mainly Illinois, Penn State and the Big Ten administration (from a lobbying standpoint). 2.)It has also been known for years...

Connecticut is the largest state without a top 5 conf school

Typical SU fan. Your years of unwarranted superiority complex isn't going to go over well in the ACC. I know; I live half way between C'ville and Chapel Hill and had kids at both schools. I didn't care why SU was being looked at by the ACC. What SU did was stab the league in the back TWICE...

Connecticut is the largest state without a top 5 conf school

If the Syracuse fan says it enough he may start to believe his bull. SU had its bags packed and was ready to step all over the rest of the Big East on its way out the door in 2003 until they were left at the alter because of the politics in Virginia but he insinuates SU is an innocent bystander...
